If teams with current players will compete against teams with new players, will the new teams be at a disadvantage from team chemistry?

I'd be okay with a reset option of some kind for folks who wanted it, but I want to retire all mine (for the 100% refund, of course) and start all new dots, because I've been building them specifically to be done after this season.

As long as there was something like "if your dot still exists on day 43, it will be reset for you" or similar, cool. Or even better, add a "Recreate this dot" as a companion to the "Retire this dot" functionality, to where you could do the retirement of a dot and then start one just like it at the creation screen, as RC26 was saying.

As far as speeding up the building process, it would be nice to have the option to go quick build or slow build. I actually enjoy the 280 day journey of building; there always seems to be little twists that individualize each dot. Slow build/280 also allows the ability to be able to check builds of agents on the team, and make adjustments as needed from an ownership standpoint. That slow process which allows fixes, and/or tweaking would be absolutely lost or handcuffed in the quick build process.

For sure.

I'd assume we'd reset chemistry to be the same for everyone.

A recreate function might be neat in general, tbh. Still, we'd need to reset everyone automatically at some point for people who don't get around to clicking that button.

I'm in favor of a full reset. Let's have everyone start fresh under the new system. The existing dots will be advantaged or disadvantaged one way or another - its just going to be impossible to make them perfectly equal in every way.

At season's end, they will effectively be the equivalent of like day 23-24 or something like that if they were in the new system, which is sort of awkward. Obviously I'm keeping the 100% refund pct for them if they want to retire, but I'm sure many folks would certainly like to keep their current dots on the same teams if they can. I've been saying all along I'd like them to be able to stick around if possible as well.

The options I can think of seem to be:
- Just keep the leagues moving forward and everyone will catch up to them eventually at plateau
- Set up a special D league with the appropriate ages for them to play in if they want to stick around
- Reset their ages to 23 or 24 or whatever it works out to and they could wait for everyone else to catch up and join teams then
- Force them to retire

Any other thoughts or ideas out there?

I think most are ok with retirement but just throwing it out there but rather than reverting dots To d23/d24 couldnt we fast forward them to where they would be at d40 with whatever multiplier you came up with? Because if all things being equal (no advantages or disadvantages) the quicker we return to plateau ball, the better.

Agreed

Just start completely fresh for season 100. It’s a pain making dots but it is what it is. If we could get some of the suggestions in the suggestions forum implanted for dots, that would be great. Some of us make dozens of dots and it can get pretty tedious doing the small things 600x every season like equipment upgrades.

Start fresh. Everyone is on equal ground.

Full reset as it is the easiest option for BOrt and all and then we can hit the ground running. Whatever is decided though I am excited to see what the changes look like. Let's go!

Imho it is very very very important that the s99 dots don't get the serious advantage of reaching plateau before s100 dots.

If people knew this would have been the case, way more s99 dots would have been made, but many skipped this season as s99 was announced as a holder season (with full flex refund) until things could get redone.

If you let s99 dots be a season ahead of s100 dots, top leagues are all going to get filled with s99 dot teams as a starting point of glb v1.2.

Reaching plateau a season before is not a competitive advantage, though, and that's what is most important? As long as all builds are equal at plateau (and I think the way to accomplish this would probably put S99s at a disadvantage) it's fair game? S99 carryover teams can start in AA (2-3 seasons from Pro), S100 fresh teams start in A (3-4 seasons from Pro).

While Bort did say it was going to be trial season he also said he wanted to make an effort to continue these dots if possible. Now if it's determined that a S99 dot would be more advantaged than a S100 competitively, I get it. At the end of the day it's just a month a half extra, I suppose, but watching dotball has been painful this season (accelerated building 2.0 will help this).

Filling higher leagues first is a significant advantage unless there's going to be 50% demotion from higher leagues which I doubt. If only 1 team is promoting up the ladder from each league, it's incorrect to pretend starting in the higher league isn't incredibly advantageous.

At the time s99 was being made the prevailing thought from Bort was he'd just give is a huge SP dump to L50. Obviously at that point, the s99 and s100 players would be sp-dumped to the same level 50.

I strongly advocate towards resetting the s99 dots to L1 so they are the same as s100 dots and all can just come up through the same new system together evenly and fairly.

With the rebuild, why not increase max level to 100 or would this "break" too many things to be worth the effort?

more boosts, good for Bort, bad for our pocket.
