The problem is that they really explained the new training system poorly, after rereading it half a dozen times with my Catch22 to english decoder ring, it addresses a lot of the things people have been complaining about.

Such as:

Lack of development late in a players career: your player is approaching retirement so he's limited to light training that gives him loads of BT's that can be used on AEQ or converted to SP's to play with.

More development options: purchasing extra SA's, deciding whether you want to be a BT focused build covered with fully upgraded AEQ and extra SA's. Or more of a power trainer with maybe one less AEQ and fewer bonus SA's but with trains that add huge chunks to your bar.

As it is the current training system has lead to cookie cutter clones and is as boring as hell, this new system breathes some life into this game.

Once again it's not complicated at all, it's actually pretty cool, it's just explained HORRIBLY. What Catch and Bort don't seem to get is that adding new content is half developing the content and half marketing it, and they couldn't have done a worse job selling these changes to their existing player base.

If they'd introduced this with a simple video showcasing the new training interface and all of it's advantages (along with how simple it actualy is), most people would be excited about this rather than freaking out.

yeah, this. still a bit skeptical but i'm thinking it may be p good

I thought there was.

This is a breakdown of how 24 TP's would look (for simplicity sake just keeping the base value the same):

Attribute at intense

First 5 work outs = +3
Second 5 work outs = +3.3
Third 2 work outs = +1.44
Total SP gain = +7.74
Cost = 15 bonus tokens
Gain = Intense Level Three for Attribute

Attribute at hard

Total SP gain = +5.4
Gain = 12 bonus tokens

Attribute at medium

Total SP gain = +3.6
Gain = 24 bonus tokens

Attribute at easy

Total SP gain = +1.8
Gain = 36 bonus tokens

Two Attributes Intense:
Attribute one gain: +3.6
Attribute two gain: +3.6
Total SP gain =+7.2
Gain = 6 bonus tokens

Three Attributes Intense
Attribute one gain:+2.4
Attribute two gain: +2.4
Attribute three gain: +2.4
Total SP gain = +7.2
Gain = 12 bonus tokens

Four Attributes Intense
Attribute one gain: +1.8
Attribute two gain: +1.8
Attribute three gain: +1.8
Attribute four gain: +1.8
Total SP gain = +7.2
Gain = 18 bonus tokens

Looks like you get a skill point advantage training multiple attributes and still get tokens.

Catch22, what's the motivation for this change? Given users more functionality with the training system?

I thought the developmental trains were a one time deal? And you're listing a BT cost with the single trains but not the multi's which also take BT's to upgrade. Also I think your BT numbers are off for the multi's, they seem to be counting one additional train.

Anyway here's an example assuming the developmental trains are already out of the way

Four attributes Intense: 4(0.6) = 2.4 SP's and 3 BT's.
total cost: 8 TP's
cost to upgrade to that level: 60 BT's

3 intense trains at level 4, and one light train: 1.4(3)(0.6)+0.15 = 2.52 SP's and 3 BT's
total cost: 8 TP's
cost to upgrade to that level: 50 BT's + developmental trains earlier in their career.

As you can see even if you're after multiple trains while earning BT's the single train method is better.

Now you might say this is pretty close, but being able to power up a single attribute that can be trained efficiently vs having to divide trains among several attributes is a huge inherent advantage. Literally no one will be using multi's, and the people who are slow coming to this will be ticked off that they wasted BT's in them.

I've been here for 2 years and can kind of understand this. What does a new user make of it? Just sayin'

This will be a huge win for the spreadsheet jockeys.

Everyone else will flail for a couple of seasons, if they last that long.

Newbs will find it absolutely inpenetratable and either flail or quit.

I honestly wonder whether the intent here is to nerf our dot-making skills. Eventually, one uber-efficient method will become the new norm, but by then no one will care.

Wow..... this just really really makes things more complicated.

Games are supposed to be fun and user friendly.

Anyone know where to get my GLB Master's Degree at?

all this so "we can have more things to do with our players"?

I really want my players to be able to cruise around town for superfly chicks to increase my confidence and decrease my cash
then have the option of making her come to my games to increase player's moral during the game
if things go well, after 1 season they will get married, cash will decrease even more, but wife has EQ slots that help the player in game(like 40,000 "#1 FAN" foam finger for hands, player's jersey for shirt, etc), after another season, you 2 can have kids... they have their own EQ slot like foam fingers, etc
if things don't workout, you switch around too many teams, wife may divorce you and half your cash and EQ disappears, moral decreases

also have the option of hanging out with team members outside the field that leads to attribute bonuses or penalties
for example:
QB and WR hanging out to gain a vision increase
the entire O line playing poker every week increases blocking and confidence
DT car pooling with a HB to practice decrease in moral

you know, stuff like that... real stuff....not like training points and shopping tokens and resource units... what is this? the welfare league? I mean do we really need a million different ways to train our players

lmao
