just caught this thread... but why in the world would zone specialist not work for LBs ......... ????


- Zone specialist only works for SS, FS, CB (or maybe it should be 1/2 or 1/4 strength for other positions?)

Both of those are needed.

If a CB is covering the HB and you run a screen, it doesn't deserve to be completed. But at the same time, when the upcoming code is added...who is going to cover HBs with CBs in screen situations?

That's what I want to know, what is the reasoning behind this?

I run a 3-4 most of the time and since Blitzing from the ILB positions is about pointless I put them in Zone, why the nerf?

Bort isn't intending for HB screens to be unplayable. Adjustments will be made. Looks like the QB is part of the problem really...

Seems like HB screens work fine when a CB isn't covering the HB. Looks like the CB is leaving his WR pretty open....

Bort why not make Ball Hawk for man coverage only? This way teams can't stack BH and ZS VAs. This play is just ridicules.

Somebody brought up a good idea, which I kinda like:

Make zone specialist turn off when the player sees the ball coming (instead of at the catch). That would give them the reaction bonus from it, but it wouldn't be able to stack speed and all that with ball hawk.

I noticed an issue with players who naturally reach level 22 vs players who boost to level 22. Basically if you naturally reach level 22 you get the same level gains as if you are level 1-21. If you boost to level 22 you get the level gains as if you were level 22-29.

I assumed it was not a bug but since you are addressing the 3 boost decimal rounding that I assumed was not a bug maybe this a also a bug.

It is related as far as I can tell - should be fixed by this update.

Cool, thanks. I am not sure if you can see their boost history but they only boosted 3 times in their career. That was last season.

This would be good--and really I'd support ball hawk (and every other 2%/level VA in the game, while we're at it) dropping to 1%/level or lower--really, most of the multi-attribute VAs should be in the 0.67%/level ballpark and highest bonus wins in my estimation. (Hell, just highest bonus wins rather than stacking would kill a lot of current and potential future problems.)

Speaking of multi-attribute and stacking VA bonuses. I think we can call on an old lesson learned with the attribute VAs and the big heart VA. Basically the physical skills for most top leveled players are at very high levels. So high % levels and stacking bonuses just put them at freakish levels. The mental and football skills can probably get away with higher bonuses and stacking bonuses without hurting the sim.

Vision may become the one exception to this rule of thumb. Still I think if the physical skills are somehow kept in check a crazy vision bonus may not matter that much.
