The LOTs I've seen with no protect have always suffered. But I haven't watched a game for ages so have no real idea.

I'd bet it is better than Shock Block though

Tiarnan Deon retires http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1797327&playoffs=0

#26 all-time D player.
#3 all-time CB and probably a big play or two away from #2.

With better usage in seasons 20-22 (especially since forced fumbles and blitzes weren't massively nerfed until seasons 27-28), I believe he could have been a top-3 all-time D HOFer.

Dr. Showtime did a very nice job of using him at plateau for a few seasons, and Grr8WhiteHype did a nice job for a few seasons pre-plateau, and I am grateful for their coordinating. Thanks also to lardaddy and Night Dragon for giving him the opportunity for one last MVP this season despite 9% decline by day 32.

With consistent heavy usage throughout his career (especially before blitzes and then forced fumbles were massively nerfed), and specific gameplanning, I have no doubt could have been a top-3 all time in the D HOF.

Yes, I know, I'm an idiot for being faithful to teams when they are losing, but the result doesn't lie, he had two seasons of at least 1 TTS every single game, blowout or no.

Be nice for once and admit that your build is not ideal for testing TTS...

Coverage build that became oddly less effective over time. I can't explain why he got 20+ PDs his first couple of seasons in the WL but only nineteen combined over the last two. It's extremely frustrating to me that even LBs built with high jumping and double deflect % suck so heinously in coverage. It wasn't even a pathing problem, as I've seen these dots be right on top of the receiver and yet consistently give up the reception. I wonder if the LB penalty to covering WRs was mistakenly applied to their coverage in general. Swat Ball would have helped some, but was so far down in the tree as to be an inefficient investment. I understand Bort's reluctance to change any of the SA trees, but good lord the LB ones are by far the worst.

People making coverage LBs and not investing at all in Swat Ball makes no sense to me. I understand the frustration with the tree, but for 5 SP you could add +2 to an SA that is 1. Fundamental to his role, 2. Favored, 3. Increased by +22.5% by AEQ (not to mention 3rd Down Stopper). Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Use your brain for once and realize that the point was whether or not TTS works well enough on a passing build. Of course it (or Spin or Power Through) would work better on a rusher.

I doubt that the AEQ bonus is applied after everything else. I imagine that it affects the base score, after which you add SAs and such. Regardless, the bonus from Swat Ball is flat and small. It's not worthless by any means, but neither is it necessary. As others have noted, investing in Swat Ball doesn't seem to make coverage LBs any better.

And... eh... what ? Did anyone mention rushers ? I thought we were talking about passing! What are you going on about? I don't think TTS even works on rushers...

This issue #1 is staying close enough to attempt a PD

The QB you were babbling about had a 72 rushing bar and only 85 passing bar, which means that it's not anything even close to a conventional passing build. It's also clear from watching replays that he wasn't built for passing, but instead has abundant speed. The point, which you have continuously missed, is that TTS still doesn't give enough of a bonus to be worthwhile on conventional passing builds. Now please stop disrupting this thread because you can't understand what is being discussed.

Sure, but as noted, I can't even count the number of times that LB was right on top of the TE and yet continuously gave up completions. It was to the point that I would be shocked whenever he did get a deflection. Coverage LBs seem to lose 1 on 1 battles far more frequently than CBs, even if they're built similarly.
