If you think that teams are going so strongly towards the passing game, make a freaking receiving HB.

The other team you GM seems to run the ball just fine...

Kind of hard to do at LVL 23 when my guy is geared to elusive running.

Also I don't think receiving RB's are really proven.

If you look at that player's game log, the games in which he did really well did not come against elite teams. So that's 250-350 yards right there and some TD's also.

Just pump all of your points into catching for the next few levels and tell your Owner so he can set the tactics to get the ball to you more. Don't be such a diva. If things start changing, then you should change as well. You can't expect everything to revolve around you.

My backup HB has 1300 yards rushing.

Most "elite" teams are going to be ableto pass OR run. Detroit, my own team, has RBs in the top categories and our QB/WR up there too. In order to be a efficient offense one has to be able to utilize the other teams weakness. Low depth? Run it at them outside and burn them in the fourth. Horrible secondary? Burn em with middle passes.

It's all about gameplans. If we go up against a team with a bad defensive line, you can bet our 22/21 Hbs are going to be getting most of the touches. They are speed backs with a higher STR causing broken tackles. That's not an intentional slam on our passing game, it's simply gameplanning.

if your team doesn't do it efficiently, they probably won't win many games.

Its elusive backs that are problems. Not power backs. Plenty of teams running power backs.

there is nothing wrong with the running game, i think we have 2 teams in Canda AA#1 east that are mainly passing teams, and they arent in the top 10. power running games are still the best. my RB rushed for 1500 yards and 15 TD's last season, and so far he has 1411 yards and 20 TD's with 2 easy games left. Dont see the decline yet.

If the run is so easy to stop then why do we still run on teams? I'm sure they know we're going to run on them, each of our HB's probably average around 15-30 carries a game. Our team hasn't had much of a problem running on good teams. When we run poorly we still average about 3.5 ypc. As people have said above, you've got to play to your opponent's weakness. I do a lot of our defensive scouting and teams who can't or don't run the ball are the easiest to plan against and shut down.

There was some real truth to what was said above, good teams can run or pass on you, versatility is the key of any offense. If you aren't a versatile offense then you're easy to plan against.

Gameplan really has nothing to do with it. Against similar level competition, running is pretty ineffective regardless.

You can play 90% pass defense with some blitzing, and totally shut down a teams running game easily.

Against poor competition, it's easy to light it up. Against similar competition, it's almost impossible.

So you only count being able to run if you get 100+ yards?

Is he getting 50+ carries in those games or what?

Exactly.

We had a very good two back system that carried us through our first season but once we got to USA Pro we could only run against the lesser teams.

We've adjusted somewhat and our interior OL are working on ST, but it does seem like DL are TOO dominant in this game once they reach a certain level.
