Chicago Hedgehogs were a lot of fun, even if we never got past WL final-4. Not too many teams existed and made many WL playoffs without a farm system from s2-s48.

I vote to lock up the few elite builders / owners in their own league in their own forum as they rarely chat anyways and then we simply make PRO the new FUN, competitive place to be.

This season has had a lot of chatter and I've been too busy. Hope it keeps up going forward.

What is broken with the old system?
How come for 100+ seasons no one ever complained about number of PO teams and now suddenly this has become a big issue?
Was the number of PO teams an issue in minors moving up?
How many 4th or even 8th seeds in the prior 12 league team structure won WL in the past?

If you don't want to get embarrased by a no 1 seed or want a free pass as a no 1 seed just to get closer to a title, fine.
But you are simply killing the magic of the 4th seed having a shot at winning the whole thing. And no matter going up against juggernauts, a shot is a shot. And having a shot is all that matters in the POs.

Isn't a shot what you want for TSW this season, a chance to still win the whole thing???

We've always complained about leagues being filled with CPUs, as TJ Spikes mentioned with his post... especially the pro leagues before the re-start where you had pro leagues with 4 CPU teams or no dot rosters. This was and still will be the main problem moving forward.

I am just tired of discussions related to topics, which are currently no problems, just to create some problems.You want to have more teams involved in the forum then simply create a 20 team league at the top and let each other play 19 times without PO.

I vote for a 24 team league. Let's enjoy some dot ball without being so exclusive. There are plenty of teams capable of any given simday. I think it's pretty safe to say there are at least 30 teams right now that are competitive.

Ive been around for a while...although not as long as most. Many cool/great/successful peeps have been and (sadly) gonefor whatever reason. I miss them and the way the game used to be ...especially at the top levels EVEN THO I spent most of my time in "lower" leagues/levels. My incursions into the top level of the game have met with little success but have always been enjoyable and something I could learn from.

Pre dotapocalypse the game seemed imo stuck in a certain groove at least for the previous ten or so seasons. Certain users showed they were above and beyond being good. I have total respect for that. imo to stay at the top in this game needs more than just a series of plays or a crop of elite dots. I liked when winning Natty Pro to qualify for the big times was the real thing for us mere mortals !!

As for league make-ups or formats I will go with whatever works although personnally I prefer smaller conferences ( play your conf opponents twice and then a series of inter conf games etc)

Not going to vote purely because its technical and Im a Luddite !!! I will say that the Forums over the past few seasons have been both a thing of beauty and a joy to behold . I place myself firmly in the Pro Kop camp of being glad the game is still here ( even tho Ive heard rumours hes a Canadian !!!)

Consider what Pro will look like when you likely remove these 12 teams

Tomcic, do you realize the first half of GLB's history we had 16/32 teams making the playoffs (50%)? It's only after Bort made some unilateral changes that we ended up with this weird 66% are playoff teams thing. The Imagine if in the original GLB, 22/32 teams made the playoffs? Woulda been lolz.

Fwiw if you check poll results, the questions were clearly at least worth asking. Really weird that you/red/mauler seem afraid of the poll's existence.

And ya, if the rules are top3 make playoffs and I finish 4th, I'm 100% fine with that. Though it's worth noting that if we have a top tier of 24, 50% means 12/24 make the playoffs which isn't too shabby...

I think what some people miss, is a 12tm top tier means we need to sustain 36 "high quality" teams to keep the top leagues fun and competitive. But a 24 team top tier we only really need to sustain 24 "high quality teams"

Because 4/5 leagues (48-60 tms) being high quality (ie AAA very competitive top to bottom) isn't likely as we couldn't sustain 5 wl+pro leagues before the snap.

The number of PO teams are a product of the number of teams assigned to a league. I don't care if 50% or 8/12.

never liked the wl because it made every league but WL meaningless. by the end most pro leagues had 3 or fewer competitive teams. i was always in favor of leaving the pro leagues and having a WL tournament. we can already see that we dont have enough players nor teams to support a wl structure. if you are going to have a wl now, we need insta 79s to fill in gaps.

This is how I feel about it. When there were a ton of teams WL made sense although I felt even then that having an elitist group could cripple the game.

I don't honestly care if the game stays the same as today or morphs into something new but IMHO it makes more sense to have PRO as the top tier as there simply is not enough teams.

A PRO LEVEL and ELITE LEVEL tourney could help fuel the drive of the elitists.

I feel the opposite

Splitting 12 WL/CL teams amongst 4 Pro Leagues means a lot of pointless games

the appeal of WL is every game can be won by anyone - that doesn't exist when you split those teams among many leagues
