Maybe you should make different ht/wt ratios valuable, instead of what we have now, which is only a single good value for it?

Im not reading 27 pages but I have an idea and if it was mentioned so be it.

Why don't we just do this to make it more "realistic."

When you make a player it automatically spits out 3 chooses. You can choose one of those 3 or re-roll ONCE. That is it. Now you are thinking couldn't people just delete the guy and make a new one. Nope. Make it so the points used are carried over till next off-season, then they got the points back. Maybe give us some options for are players before the first roll. So lets say you wanted to make a TE. You click the TE options and it asks you "Blocking or Receiving", and it will give you a better chance at getting a good Blocking or Receiving build. I think that would be funner then having the ability to use a GM scrip that runs till you get your exact build.

so you want GLB to decide what a starting blocking TE build would look like. the same GLB that gave us HBs with a minor in throwing and o linemen with a minor in tackling.

And if any one was dumb enough to put any points in tackling in season 1 or 2 where complete jackasses who shouldnt be playing this game to begin with.

Only with the agents, who are doing a million rolls. The other fix is easy for people trying to exploit the system. I could give Bort the code right now. Just ban any ip that is spamming the server for 5 minutes. If you just want this to exploit further, Bort should leave it the way it is, and stop the scripts.

This is the answer. EIther that or allow x number of rolls for a player from one IP per 24 hour period. If not, the game will be flooded with players with max main starting attributes the day it changes. And keep the height and weight random. We want some semblance of a spectrum of plyer times, not thousand of clones.

Then the players that are supposed to be the fastest on the field aren't reaally fast at all.

X2

Limit the number of rerolls and the game functions as designed. 1000's of players with the same build is not the answer.

So since every attribute gets an 8 and that's much less starting skill than previous seasons are we getting more SP to assign initially?

That would be ideal b/c it creates more chances for build diversity (you can actually start a LB out as speedy instead of being stuck with a 10)

Remove re-rolling. Go with a point-buy system like every other MMO.

As far as height/weight, they should be random, and you should not find out what they are until after the character is generated/owned.

BUT.... Height/weight need to be fixed. Right now, it's often best at certain positions to be as light as possible due to the speed boost. This kind of thing needs to be rebalanced.

BUT.... I still favor my archetypes suggestion for player creation. The one Bort said he was already thinking about and that it was "cool"...

Why. the lighter you are the faster you are, the heavier you are the stronger, and more tackles you break, less likely you are to mis tackles, and more likely to pancake people. I think the height/weight is working as it does in the real world. The only reason for someone not to like it is they have a 340lb dt that they want to be an agility based player. That is part of the game, I think it adds quite a bit to the game.

So you are proposing this scenario of a planned power FB:

Create name

Roll character

spend time spending points

Find out he is 5"10 205 pounds

Not only would that piss me off to waste the time spending initial points, but doesnt solve people constantly re-rolling. Soon enough there will be a script that auto inputs the attributes you want, and verifies the height weight you want.
