as an owner of FBs, I like it a lot ... a simpler version would be to mirror the receiving option of creative route running eg:

1. Run the play exactly as designed (ie follow the block, if the play call says so)
2. Creative (run to daylight - aka do whatever the hell you want !)

not saying this version is better - just that it might be easier to code*, given that Bort has already done similar with receiving

(*lol at me using the word "code" ... I can barely switch a computer on without messing up !!)

This idea +1

Also, making FBs need more speed means more FB rushes will be used. This way you use your FB as a powerback.

Interesting, I would prefer it the way I've drawn it up because it allows for a "conditional creativity". My main problem with only having the two options (follow/creative) is that if you pick creative, then things pretty much stay the way they currently are. If you pick to follow the block and by some miracle everyone blocks perfectly and there's nothing but green grass between you and the endzone, you could be stuck behind the FB until he makes a block, during which time a defender could break a block and come after you from behind.

If my method is impossible to implement, then I would rather have only two options than none, but hopefully it will be possible to incorporate a vision check to see if no defenders are nearby to abandon the FB.

This is a good idea. Makes a good FB more useful.

I own a L50 FB.

Totally epic. I know people who have retired their FB because of this.

I think its a great idea. I have an elusive back and he gets tackled so easily on plays up the middle because the FB is to slow to keep up.
