There was a thread on this a few days ago, but it's gone now. However, I think that this is an important addition that could really help the game. There needs to be a new tactic for HBs about how they react with a FB lead blocking for them. There would be three options as with most other tactics:

Follow the FB until he makes his block- This option would force the HB to stay behind the FB until the FB engages a defender in a block. If the FB is significantly slower than the HB, then the HB will have to slow down to avoid running past the FB.

Follow the FB unless there are no defenders around- This one would have the HB follow the FB if there are defenders in the immediate area. If there are no defenders within X number of yards (number of yards possibly set by player?) and the HB passes a Vision check to see that there are no defenders, then he abandons the FB and goes around him at full speed.

Ignore the FB blocking and try to make the play solo- Using this setting, the HB will completely ignore the FB, getting up to full speed as fast as possible and trying to make a play by himself. Probably useful if your FB is REALLY slow or a terrible blocker.

As it stands, a lot of HBs end up running past FBs on plays, essentially making the FB a wasted blocker since the HB is already 3-5 yards downfield if the FB finally makes a block. These tactics would be able to help that and cause HBs to actually follow behind lead blockers like they do in real football.

I have a HB with really good speed and I even like the idea...I also have a FB who is a blocking FB with decent speed; he could help a lot of HB's out by picking up a block once past the front 4 if the HB would actually follow the lead block

My team also happened to sign a Blocking FB, luckily his Speed is very close to mine so he can usually keep in front of me, but sometimes he takes a little longer to get started and my HB blows right past him and headlong into a defender the FB could have blocked.

bump? I usually try not to bump my own suggestions, but people seem to really like this one and I don't want it to get lost.

OP edited to include pulling Guards as lead blockers and not just FBs, since this problem extends to plays where Guards pull to the far side as well.

Probably retiring my FB after this season just because he seems to have no use.
