+1, I think more variety is nice.

...but in real life good possesion WR's, like a Joe Jurevicius for example, have good hands and can get open in crucial times, like thrid downs. Yet they usually aren't the fastest wr's. On the other hand you have speed wr's, who normally don't have great hands.

But this isn't real life. Lets say I build a "possesion wr." The first thing I would do it get his catching up high, but once his catching gets pretty high, wouldn't you want to focus more on speed and agility. I dont think your going to see any WR's with like a 90 catch and 60 speed.
It seems as if everyone is addicted to speed in this game, hence them building up a WR is speed and agility as their main atributes and a Catching as a close second. So it seems like most people build balanced if not speedy wr's.

I see where you're going with that. It might be better for possession receivers to be set on focusing down the field. BUT, if they don't have the speed and agility to actually GET down the field, it really won't do them any good. It'll just negate some of their awesome catchiness.

Might as well since we have the route running and creative one already.

How so? They still have to catch the ball - if the YAC is enhanced only slightly at the expense of catching the ball... it's all about the balance there.

Has anyone tried the 90 Catch/60 Speed? I could certainly see a use for that as a slot WR. He'd never be a #1 or #2, but that's the role - just like in the NFL.

I think this idea is an excuse for people who like making WRs to completely focus their SPs on speed and agility and neglect the attributes that WR require to be well-rounded like catching and vision.

I disagree. I can see this helping and/or hurting those who use/abuse the slider.

Speed receivers going for that extra burst will pay with more drops and fumbles.

Possession receivers with sacrifice additional yardage, but they will come down with the ball 99/100 times.

Not trying to be against anything but....shouldn't your WR be able to catch the ball better because he has a higher catching attribute....I understand the tackling theory, you can either try to rip the ball loose or just wrap the carrier up....you see it ever game in the NFL and college...players trying to rip the ball loose instead of just making the tackle. But the ability to change a WR is kinda stupid...I really don't think guys like Fitzgerald actually think about how their gonna catch the ball. I think after every catch he makes it's his intention to score. These ideas should be in the WR's build....you wanna make more catches, up your catching attribute....you wanna make more play's after the catch, up your vision and agility. JMO

Your over thinking it. It doesnt have to be that complex dude

Totally support this suggestion. This as many have pointed out would allow for WR to have more identity and differentiate themselves through tactics and settings. Allows for more aggression if gameplan calls for it or like for a possession WR to just catch the ball and move the chains, etc.
