In both situations, it is the banned persons fault, so yet in your example, you feel punished, in my example you don't?

Your over extending the analogy. Nobody failed to do what they were supposed to do in my forum, or i would have removed them and I would not be here.

EDIT: I am not here because they cant post in the public forums. Obviously they got their ban for their actions in the public forums, at least i hope so since that's what would make sense.

In my analogy, they never failed to do what they were supposed to do in your forum either. They failed to do what they were supposed to do outside of your forum, and in both cases, the end up not being able to post in your forum. How does it make sense to feel punished by one of them, and call the other one stupid?

I guess all I'm saying is that your forum is still a part of the GLB experience, and when people fuck around and get perma-banned, the idea is to take away the forum part of the GLB experience.

You should be mad at the guy for getting banned, not GLB for banning him.

The issue at hand is this. Were they perma banned out of spite, or were they perma banned to protect the rest of the GLB community from having to deal with them mucking up the forums. If you feel they are perma banned because they deserve some form of suffering and banning is the only thing you can really do to them without interrupting your cash flow, then you are a douche and you need to grow up a little. If you feel that they were banned to maintain order in the public forums, then there should no reason to not allow them to post in private forums.

Partially, but it's much more that they did something VERY wrong to get to that point.

If I remember correctly, people who are forum-banned can still post in private forums. So we're talking about people cheating in the game in some way bad enough to get banned. Not someone who said "hooty hoo" 1 too many times.

by my previous post, you are reaffirming my long head belief that you are the former and not the latter.

Example:

Prokop isn't permabanned, neither it Boltz...which means that the GLB Forum Police are fairly forgiving.

If you get perma-banned...you shouldn't have been so stupid.

No, normal banned people can't post in PF's either.

In your analogy you just then compared fault directly relating to access of the forum (internet) which is A) clearly the fault of the end user and B) completely reversible. If the end user truly desired to use my forum they would simply pay their bills. In the real world the end user may or may not have even done wrong, in a zone outside of my forum and the punishment is for an infinite length of time with no clear way to get out of it. In the first case i could be upset at the user for not wanting to be a part of my forum enough to pay his bills. In the second i cant really be upset with him. His actions were not in my forum, if they even exist.

they can post in there own PF(if they have one) and also in team forums

No im just referring to the forum banned folk. So really, how does this make sense. The true banned can stay in their non-glb hell as far as im concerned.
