+1 on the idea from a player only agent

Hm, so basically 3 days of "free" training on attributes set by the team owner or GM?

Would this take the place of player paid training in offseason, or go on top?

For the combine scores, I'd need to compile a list of formulas that make sense. Many things don't really fit into an actual game mechanic (bench press?), so they would end up being more for show.

1. Essentially. Well 'free' for the player, but not for the team. Cost of it was just a guesstimate actual figures of course would vary.
2. Addition. Just like players can train on their own in the real world, and then attend team training camp.
3. Yes. I think that will be the most difficult aspect of this (admittedly I couldn't tell the difference between a 1 and 0 in programming). I am working on a setup for a formula or something similar that would be a good place to start maybe to determine some of these. I was going to use it as a 'forum game' for my team. However, maybe it will help with this in a way. It would primarily be for show in that respect, but would add a neat little extra for those who just have players and not a team or anything else like that.

I've seen some of the combine score type things floating around the forum. Maybe we could start with some of those?

Definitely sounds like a place to start.

I learned when making my own combine formulas up, its always more fun to make sure multiple stats apply to each outcome, and to add confidence as a random factor. Basically convert confidence to a percentage booster, and each score gets a 0%-Conf%/x boost on it each day, to make the scores randomized a bit.
Some days you perform good at the combine, other days your just not in it mentally.

what about CPU teams? Those new owners dont start with enough cash as is and wont be able to afford a training camp putting them even farther behind the rest of the league.

sounds like we need a boost in cash because i know that pain and still feel the pinch

Didn't know Bort commented on this thread. I should use my eyes more. ಠ_ಠ

With training not being affordable for a lot of players this season and people resorting to equipment fund/selling workarounds, I would like to see more specific suggestions for offseason team-centered training.

I think this could be added to another thread somewhere

Yes, but don't use some of the ones people made. Some of them have garbage like adding speed and agility points when it's obvious that they function differently.

Great idea, I think it might be a good idea that teams could pay more to get more. An example maybe for some extra money, maybe double the proposed $250,000, a team could get a chemistry bonus or something of that nature. In my opinion, one aspect of training camp is to build team chemistry, so maybe charge more for that. Also, maybe keep adding on to the price for additional bonuses, just throwing out some ideas. This is a very good idea as it stands now though.

Well, the cost is tiered based on the player levels.

The initial concept of the proposed $250k was a number I pulled out of thin air. There would definitely need to be a much steeper price for a Pro team training camp as opposed to a BBB team training camp. The cost break down based on player level (by calculating their intense training amount) could be increased as needed. I was originally thinking of tiering the cost like this:

PRO - $1.5 million
AAA - $1.0 million
AA - $500k
A - $250k
BBB - $100k

I like this idea. To add to it, what about the free agents. My idea is the same idea you speak of, in theory, but instead of a team paying, the FA does, in sort of a tryout form. That way they are also included and not alienated. And the team can get an idea of what they're getting even if the builds are not shown in some cases. FA is really complicated at times and its not always in the best interest to sign with the first team that sends you an offer, nor sign with the team to offer the most.

Of course to keep this from being abused for skill gain, the FA can only choose 3 teams to tryout for and their skill gain is less than the players who would train that are part of the team.

What do you think BCF?
