That is actually a by product of the plan. It is primarily for players.

Players only have training and equipment to spend money on where teams have contracts and stadiums and have to be much more creative with their finances than players do. Obviously it's the players that benefit since they're the ones being trained, and therefore the team benefits because it's got better players. Players couldn't build their own training facilities, though.

I'm leaning toward no becuase I think too many players will be left out in the dark, because some teams are in the red during the offseason and cannot sign players until they sell season tickets. It presents a situation where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. But I'm sure there is a solution that could be found where this doesn't become too large of a competitive advantage. At the core, I think it is a good idea, it just needs more hashing.

EDIT: Maybe have the option to do either normal training or go through training camp with the team, where certain squad bonuses can be had, etc...

I am going to have to disagree on this. Successful planning of a team's finances could allow for any team to pay for the training camp and the lower level teams you speak of pay much lower costs.

It's a win - win for players and owners.

I like this idea.
