Thanks for putting this in Epic Suggestions!

I'm going to try and keep the original post as updated as possible.

I think the read progression is a solid idea will allow for greater diversity , and we could simply move the pass rushing "back" to a more realistic timing rush.

The problem with GLB's pass rush is that rather than defensive linemen giving the QB a "clock" and arriving to him after 3-5 seconds, they either get to the QB instantly(within 2 seconds) or they don't get to him at all. I have NO clue how to fix that, but that's definitely the problem.

I've seen QBs hanging out in the pocket if nothing opens up, in fact I've seen them take off from the pocket if nthing opens up.

If in RL football the QB just chucked it on whatever step count he was on no matter what...

There'd be a lot more interceptions and bad throws. I know timing is important for some routes, but it also is doen to more than just timeing on the quarterback, a good quarterback has to feel the timing of every route he has running, check his progressions accordingly, and make a decision, if he only has 3 steps then sees an open receiver, theyn yeah he throws to option one, but if he sees option 1 covered, he looks to whomever is the next viable options (like a slant or a drag route) then he checks his HB to see if he can throw there (or does this if the pocket collapses) and he gets ride of the ball or scrambles to toss it away.

the problem with pass rush atm isn't that DEs need to be nerfed, it'sthat OTs still do not see the importance of speed/agility/vision in an OT, if you do not have those things in RL you are moved to guard or let off the team. the fact still is that defensive linemen actually are still nerved vs offensive linemen, you can tell it by those plays where the uarterback has 40 seconds to decide. The real problem here is player based, and a majority of stat padding is going on due to teams folding. IMO suggesting a fix for people who build terrible OTs or asking for quarterbacks to be forced to throw right here and right now is not the problem, problems lie within the fact that O-line is overpowered due to people not knowing how to build an OT, so bort ups the whole o-line to compensate, then people complain about outside pathing, he fixes this and now those owners of OTs that are slow are even more upset. it's a contantly growing problem with nerfig, and instead of just random nerfs we need to be thinking more along the likes of what can be fixed?

DBs deflecting a pass to a WR, that needs to be fixed.

DBs standing in front of, behind, and on the side of the WR and not a single one of the touches the ball due to QB and WR SAs? that needs to be fixed.

Linebackers that are supposed to cover a HB or a TE when they go on a passing route, but just kinda stand there acting retarded when their man drops to a block, needs to be fixed.

we don't need any more nerfs or regulations on gameplay, we need to fix some of the base things wrong with this game and do it quickly!

yea i would love one day to see every league be alil more realistic . i know its hard with all the gutting and what not. but its fun to check and see how u do every game.in a fair even league. and not have these 255-0 scores. it drives me bonkers when the opponets backs rush for 150 yards each. and then your team goes for a combine 5 yards. ughh hate it.

i like most of the idea but

about the steps

it seem unfair that they will have to throw after

what if no one is open and they just throw it

GLB will never be like NFL

so QB step are not obligatory

just let it be

I don't think some people are reading the whole thing.

The QB would have to take his 3/5/7 step drop, and then read the field for open receivers based on the Read Progression tactic. He isn't immediately getting rid of the ball after the drop, he's just waiting a little longer to survey the field so that we don't get any more screen plays that are so fast that they look like the LG snapping the ball to the WR.

so if he has to wait then they could sack him or the CB or SS or FS could get in a position that make the QB wait more

what if he is hurried and there is a long pass?

That makes it more realistic. That is football.
