I more suggest a contract till day 43 or so. Gives teams a few days after the season to resign current players, while still leaving people that want to leave some time afterwards and still during the offseason to sign with new teams.

I'd have to say it would be more realistic if contracts all ran out at season's end.

Keep the short term contracts for low-level players; but there's no real need for longer contracts ending in midseason.

I agree the 10 and 20 day contracts could still be valuable, especially as injuries are introduced.

Although the priority on this one isn't as high as some other issues in the game, the time and resources that would be required to fix this one should be minimal.

I like it because if I had a player that was a free agent I would rather be looking for a team in the off season when all the teams are looking for players in the market place than be limiting myself to those teams that have a specific need during the season.

Gives the player more options, really. And it leaves the release button there for an owner that wants to let a player off the team. Not to mention there's always the trade function.

I support this, I also think it would really help balance out the leagues more.

Yes, all contracts should end day40 so if this was the only option, problem solved. Very easy for Bort to implement!!!!

10 and 20 day contracts would likely need to remain part of the game due to the upcoming addition of injuries. It is particularly the 40, 80 and 120 day contracts we are discussing...

+1, but i see in the future a dumb owner signing a player on day 39 to only 1 season. and since its already set to day 40 the player gets a free signing bonus and cant sign back with the team for what is it 12 days?
