I can't believe we're forced to beg for this - it should have been a given with these new changes.

Blitzing may be dead, and that is wrong.

-1.

To play the devil's advocate here, the LB positions are universally referred to as "LOLB, MLB, ROLB" in 4-3 schemes and "LOLB, LILB, RILB, ROLB" in 3-4 schemes. Granting the option to designate on the depth chart which LB is the strong/weak LB, I'm all for. But arranging the names into something that resembles a quirk in GLB, I'm not for.

How do you propose the issue is fixed then?

You can call the LB's Moe, Larry, and Curly for all I care, but the ability to shift the TE changes the dynamics of defensive play calling. This is the type of thing that in a regular game could be adjusted for on the fly (if I come out of the huddle knowing we're blitzing/shifting weakside and the offense shifts the weakside we can shift the rush on the fly, if we come out knowing we're blitzing ROLB regardless of strength we can shift coverage on the fly) as it stands now, the AI can't handle it, both from a shift/blitz perspective, AND a man coverage perspective.

How about SAM (Strongside) WILL (Weakside) and MIKE (Middle)

Since, yanno, that's what they're actually called.

I'm confused. Are you saying that LOLB/MLB/ROLB is how those positions are called in "real football"? If so, you're wrong. They go by Sam, Mike, and Will, not left, middle, and right. Ditto for 3-4 schemes.

Shhh... Enough about the names! If any of you saw what happened to my first thread attempt, then I'm sure you know I don't want that again.

Also when offense switches sides do they nt and dt switch, do the ss and fs switch?

Everything on the line should be strong/weak delineated

not rde but instead weak de
not nt but instead strong tackle

actually for many teams in highschool-the entire o-line switches sides as well-leading to terms like quick tackle and quick guard (weakside)

This is how it is in High school, College and the NFL lets make it in GLB too.
