Bi-Modal Attributes: I dislike.

I just do not think it'll help things in anyway, shape or form.

Position-Specific and Size-Dependent Soft Caps:

Will hinder new players even more so. They won't know to constantly re-roll, based on:
SIZE as well as point spread. I've spent over 40 minutes to re-roll to get a player with solid 8's, if I was going to have to then spend time to also re-roll based on size it would entirely put me off of the game.

Position specific, will directly tell us what we need to have. If a LB has soft cap for speed at Y, which is higher than such and such has which is X, we know the LB needs higher speed and so on and so fourth. You basically force a cookie cutter build and do not make players more unique.

Customizable Special Ability Sets:

Could work. However, I would love to see teh ones listed in order and tier. I also disagree with making only 1 tree, I again think this would promote cookie cutter builds even more and make players less unique.

What do you mean by only making 1 tree? You'd still have two trees; one innate, and one custom which would replace the other innate one.

Like I said, though, I think it would be best off leaving the trees intact because then the whole SA tree structure would have to be redone. With a custom tree, Bort would have to figure out how to work in prestige attributes, which SAs could come in what order, and so forth as you stated.

I think the customizable SAs might be the most feasible of this lot, especially the SA tree replacement portion. Read the OP.

bort's not going to modify the player attributes or sas. been said before in interviews.

Nice idea, and good to see a Texas A&M fan/player(Im guessing you played at A&M by the start of your post, but who knows ;p.)

I just don't think it's nearly complete enough for Bort to be completely satisfied with it. The point is not to change the fundamental, but to expand it.

I still like this, and I think you have a really good thing going on

Might just be you and me, then.

Only thing I forgot was where this stupid thread was.

My only question is what do we use to change it to allow those who are already in the game and advanced in it to do? Do we make them pick to allocate their points that they have in the 2 subdivided categories or do we have, as i suggested in the other forum which i made without realizing there was one well put together already, use a proportion that takes into account the ratio of Points to skills and then give them the difference in sp to be spent only in the new skills? Would that even be possible to code?

I'd prefer proportion. No SP re-allocation necessary. Set it once (implementation or player creation), be able to adjust it a certain percentage every level, and add one more coefficient to the roll in the sim.

that makes sense. With the new, divided attributes, would we bring about a skill point per level increase to help compensate for the new attributes or would we force people to make the decision and end up having more diversity in GLB? (Personally for the latter)

I think the attributes are OK as they are, but if more do need to be added, I'd like to see done in a way that doesn't involve SP re-allocation.
