Definitely an interesting change. I'm not against it by no means but am a little weary when these new types of ideas come out as we never know what will get borked in the mean time. How will this affect coaches/coaching or is that on the back burner for longer?

Probably not but kickers need love too. There might be some people that want to be more strength focused as opposed to vision focused.

i say with more specific builds, including an array of ST builds it will increase the necessary roster sizes by quite a bit, and thus with more players that won't be boosting because it is almost a waste of flex to do so the plateau should be extended an extra season(40 days) so that the skilled players can compensate for the new non-boosting players by having an added season to boost and develop

I like the theory of the stuff here but i don't get this:

Zone Specialist
(CB) 5'8" - 6'3", 170-210 Lbs
(SS) 5'9" - 6'5", 195-230 Lbs
(FS) 5'8" - 6'4", 185-220 Lbs
Major Agility Speed Tackling Vision (+.5)
Minor Catching Confidence Jumping Stamina (+.25)
Bonus SA's - Super Vision
Penalty SA's (CB) - Shutdown Coverage
Penalty SA's (SS) - Change Direction
Penalty SA's (FS) - Shutdown Coverage

wouldn't change direction be pretty important for zone defense?

So if im understanding this correctly, the "bonus SAs" listed above are not the same as the bonus SA youre going to allow us to choose, right? Example, hard hitting LB has bonus SAs of Snarl and Monster hit, but we'd be able to choose any other SA we want, like SV, Wrap up, first step, etc?

I think the point of this type of system is actually TO let you build the type of player you want by with 'a customized' effect. It more or less increases the importance of paying attention to how you build and making it more important that you decide on a general direction prior to the start of building any player.

Will your archetype be listed somewhere on you player page? will that be public? (based on your tagging comments - I assume its a yes?)

This is a really simple question, and I think I know the answer but can you clarify THE ALG for older players?

If I Have a 300 day old player, and I want no bonus or penalty for say a OT, Will he be +0% pass/run block based on sa's, if he chooses to not be jerked with in any way?

This could work provided there isn't yet *another* major overhaul 2-3 seasons after implementation. Agree very much with mattbrimer's post.

yeah, this is great. i only wish it had been implemented 5 seasons ago. this might cause the retirement of several of my players. but players built from here on in will be more useful i think.
