Have you ever been a long-snapper? They throw the ball.

I assume it would be the same as QBs needing catching for shotgun offenses.

most Long snappers are actually backup TEs. I would not want to have a smaller guy like Cb or S in there as they just aren't big enough to be in the middle of the scrum.

Have you ever tried long snapping?

Do you really jump to punt? Not really but Bort has it that punting does help with punting, so why wouldn't throwing help with long snapping?

They could do Season Enders/Career Enders if they included compensation, say a Season Ender you would get X Flex points. A Carreer ender you would get 100% of your points back that you have spent on the player.

Would make the Depth Chart a lot more important.

You could build a Center with 35+ speed/agi/str/blk/tkl for a monster LS!

I played DE/OLB and long snapped in the PAC-10... we threw the damn ball, a punter 15 yards back cannot be reached with any speed with a shotgun snap flip.

One of the most common training / warmup methods is a pass from behind your head while standing upright over the top of your helmet, dominant hand throws the ball just like any other pass, weak hand pushes the nose for a little extra zip.

That said, I doubt the position has been fully implemented until Bort says something. It's a nice way to get a low play backup some extra plays, but if snaps start mattering to the quality of the kicks, well, that'll be the end of the backup's free ride, kinda sad.

Minus the tackle, do I win?

And its a G but they are interchangeable. I know I played LG,C,RG in high school. And I long snapped, Go me. You throw the ball in a whipping motion, pushing the hips for the follow through.

Has anyone worked out if increasing throwing is worth it (by training)

i posted several places about this. sorry.

best answer i got was, something to the effect that...

good enough for now.
