I've just saw the new LONG SNAPPER position
and the expansion of WR and CB

Anybody (especially the mods and admins) could explains how this work?
And what kind of skills does a LS need?

Well he still has to go down and cover punts, so I think speed and agility would be important.

How about any skill on snapping the ball?

Will there be a possibility of bad snap?
Causing fumble and stuffs?

the only person who knows the answer to those questions would probably be Bort. We have 2 preseason games though to figure it all out.

I wonder if the Long Snapper will need to have some Throwing ability in order to increase accuracy...

I still wish they would create a PK holder position to get backup QB more plays.

Has the long snapper been outlined as to what skills will make a good one? or can anyone play this position?

personaly im using my MLB to be LS, he has the strength to hold off a defender for a min to get the punt off and he has the speed and agility to get down the feild to the PR. just my thoughts.

I would think that a LS would need throwing, vision, confidence & strength (so he don't get knocked on his ass). As a Punter I hope that whatever a LS does he gets me the ball. As a K I think the holder position would be OK.

As to what impact these would have on the game only time will tell - just like penalties. Pretty soon there will probably be minor injuries in the mix. No season enders, as that wouldn't be fair to the guys who pay to play, but some minor stuff to slow down a WR or DB for a series. Concussions for the QB would be cool - I'll train my LB on that!

Bort said somewhere in that announcement that it should probably be a Center. He didn't go into any other details.

Yea I think a center or possibility someone else on the Oline would be the LS. We just put our backup C at it so he can get some more plays.

In all the previous seasons the long snapper was a C by default. So, I'm with you
ShamsTron, put the backup C as the long snapper.

Bort has said that there won't be any season ending injuries. Just minor ones that will hinder attributes for a game or two.

I think the C makes the most sense. Throwing?? I dont think long snappers really THROW the ball. But like someone said we got the scrimmage games to find out.
