43-8. That's an ass-kicking no matter how you slice it up. Disappointing to me since I like Peyton Manning and was hoping he'd get another ring, but the Seahawks were clearly better.

Not sure what point it is you're trying to make. I posted Denver didn't show up. They lost the game and aren't champions. You then posted "champions show up". You repeated what I posted but somehow argued with what I posted.

I predicted a Seattle win and was very glad to see Denver lose!

That said, they were pretty equal teams in terms of ability, as their 5 games against common opponents showed. (2 Denver played better against, 2 Seattle played better against, and one they played equally against.) They certainly weren't anything resembling 35 points better throughout the course of the season. This match up favored Seattle though. They are simply too good at press coverage to be abused all day by the short passing game Denver has relied on this season. That is the key element that led to the blowout.

When you just look at rushing and passing yardage and scoring, you could make a case for either team. But when you factor in special teams and turnovers, Seattle was the better team this year and they backed that up last night.

I think it was simply a case of a team shooting themselves in the foot right off the bat and things just snowballing. I've been a part of that myself. When shit is going bad it seems to just breed more bad shit.

+1

but Seattle had a lot to do with the snowball getting going

If Seattle had just steamrolled the Saints and 49ers I could buy that the Seahawks are really that much better. The fact that Seattle won by an average of 7 pts. per playoff game leading up to the SB makes last night's performance and score suspect.

The physical location had nothing to do with my post. If you didn't notice how the vast majority of the crowd screamed and yelled when the Broncos were on offense then you didn't watch the game. I watched it - Champions win, losers do what Denver did. If screaming fans were the X factor then why wasn't KC in the Super Bowl?

Anything can happen in one game and in this instance it was a blowout that favored Seattle. Let's attach some nebulous value here that is unattackable, seems legit?

I don't care for either team it's just Seattle fans overall are among the most classless bunch I've witnessed outside of Philadelphia. Seattle fans act like white trash that just won the lottery. Seems like a target-rich environment for Seahawk fans, why not take a shot at them? Most are too hung-over from partying and probably won't notice

Woulda, shoulda, coulda. It wasn't the crowd, it wasn't the conditions, it wasn't bad referee calls, it wasn't Tony Romo's girlfriend in the crowd. Did Denver come to play? Is Peyton Manning a professional-seasoned veteran? Who cares! It is what it is and it was an ASS KICKING in not only your mind but in the minds of every one with an ounce of football understanding.

Why do people keep twisting things I say (agreeing with what I posted, BTW) and framing it as if they're arguing with me?

Once again, I don't give two shits about Seattle or Denver. I don't have a dog in the fight. Just was looking for some hook to get some interest in the game for that very fact.

I do think it's sad the Seahawks will be moving in the near future. It's unavoidable.

Had Seattle not played it classy at the end and run up the gut on their last two drives, it would have been the biggest blowout in SB history.

Lol so classy they went for it twice on 4th down up 43-8? Good joke and nice try.

I was responding to your post "Let's not forget that the SB was essentially a home game for Seattle since the shitty New York fans jumped on their bandwagon." My point was that I don't care who the fans in New York were pulling for, and posting stuff like "It was basically a home game for Seattle" comes across to me as excuse-making.

Sounds like we agree more than we disagree overall, though, so I'll leave it at that.

That SB was pretty shitty. Both the teams involved were uninteresting and the game itself was only fitting.

Why would I make an excuse for a team I don't care about?

There's no denying when you're in a hostile environment and near the EZ it's loud as hell and hard to get an audible set or a snap off.

So you think that they should have kicked the FG's and run up the score instead? Yeah, it was classy, don't kick the FG, go for it on 4th down and try to keep the clock going while maintaining possession. Anyone would do that, how does that not make sense to you?

Cause Pete Carroll is notorious douche for going for it on 4th down when the games out of reach...Pretty sure he ran 2 fake punts last season and it wasn't necessary...So yes take the 3 points...he went for it with over 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter on the bronco's 30...You telling me he was trying to waste time? I'm sure they wouldn't have scored if they kept converting on 4th down on the Bronco's 30...

4th & 7 on Denver's 30 and they slam it up the gut with a backup running back, from the most basic formation in the playbook. That was just laying low rather than embarrassing Denver 57-8, which was a real possibility.

Typical Whiners fan, can't even give props when D was one of three most dominant in the last 30 years. Spin it however you like but the Seahawks won convincingly in every phase of the game and delivered big-time. They stuffed Denver's record setting offense.

This was an easy SB to call the winner for because of the matchup. Manning is the master at deciphering disguised coverages. Seattle lines up with virtually no deception, just smash mouth, in your face D.

fwiw, SF was the 2nd best team in the league this year.
