Denver will blowout Seattle. Probably going to be the biggest blowout in SB history.

Okay, quick question, because I've seen this from several people now... where did this idea come from that the cold/bad weather is going to favor Seattle? Last I checked, it gets colder in Denver than it does in Seattle, and both teams play outdoors. It's not like Seattle is playing the Bucs or the Saints or something.

Its called the philosophies of the offense. I am not sure if you really are looking for an explanation, or just trying to disregard the obvious??

Sooooooooo... passing is impossible in cold weather?

Someone alert Tom Brady. His entire career in New England has been an illusion, apparently. Probably every CFL game ever, too.

A blowout would be a surprise to me in either direction. I like how these teams match up with each other.

Cold weather has always favored a strong run game/defenses. As we know, Seattle has better in both of those categories.

Nobody said impossible, but look back, some of Mannings worst games came in cold weather. Doesn't help that winds will be up between 15-20 mph. That does NOT help Manning at all. If he tries to force throws in this weather, the wind will make a difference. Seattle will get 2-3 picks if they choose to have Manning throw 40+ times.

Pretty sure the "other" Manning plays in that stadium maybe 8 times a season? Pretty sure Seattle went in there with cold weather and wind, and picked him off 5 times... obviously Peyton is the better of the two, but that defense is suffocating. Shit's about to go down, and it's going to be one HELL of a game.

There was a report that said manning couldn't play in the cold, a couple of years ago I think.

Here is a recent one that refutes that analysis and says that all QB's play worse in cold weather.

We'll see but it certainly looks like Seattle / SF was the match-up of the leagues top two teams.

EDIT: I honestly think unless Manning plays big, Denver gets handled fairly easily

Well, all the guys with "Football IQ" were predicting that cold weather would cause the 49ers and Saints to lose big in their Wild Card games. I also remember a few years ago all the guys with "Football IQ" were predicting the 18-0 Patriots were gonna clobber the Giants in the Super Bowl.

So, sorry, not gonna bow to the guys with "Football IQ" and mindlessly accept everything they say even if it doesn't make sense to me. Guys with "Football IQ" certainly know more about the game than I do overall, but they ain't perfect, and they have a tendency to think they know more than they actually do. And when I see people making absolute statements of opinion as if they're facts, well, I like to start poking at them. I'm not gonna set aside my own knowledge of the game just because someone tells me I should, not without a good reason.

I just find it hard to believe that a QB who spent all season playing outdoors and spent the later part of the season playing in cold weather is suddenly going to lose ALL THE QB SKILLZ when he plays one more game outdoors in cold weather.

Yes, I get that Seattle runs more and Denver passes more. However, passing teams still often find ways to win outdoors in cold weather, and running teams still find ways to lose outdoors in cold weather. It'll be a factor, but I don't think it's as automatic as some people seem to think.

Good ... because it didn't appear you wanted to even acknowledge this, prior to this post.

All I am saying, is weather could be a factor, and it would certainly favor Seattle, in bad weather conditions ... don't be naive to this, and just disregard reality. That being said .... it doesn't appear the weather will be all that bad, which is what I was just hoping for, as a neutral fan. The weather should not determine (or assist) the outcome of SB 48 .... which is good news for neutral fans, and a relief for Bronco fans. May the best TEAM win .... I am going to pull for Denver, and think they will win. Wouldn't be surprised to see either team win, should be a great game.
