NFC South is really a tough one....the Falcons have some great weapons as do the Saints....their recent game was a nail biter!
I'm pulling for VICK. He's getting too many drops. He's a great passing QB not just a guy who can run!

The 49ers look very vulnerable....will they rise up to last season's standard?

I agree with you about Vick, he definitley has the potential to be a great passing QB, however if teams get pressure on him, like Romo, he will make mistakes. Sometimes the mistakes will turn into big plays, but most of the time, it ends bad. And your right about the NFC South, I got my divisions mixed up. But the as you said the South will be tough. In the AFC, it appears that Peyton and the broncos have established themselves as the team to beat. Although once Bradys targets get healthy, I'm sure he will have the Patriots right there as usual. I'm just glad to see the Steelers are not a threat this season. It appears that could have a few tough rebuilding seasons ahead of them

Chiefs (3-0) sack Michael Vick six times as Andy Reid wins in return
http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=330919021

Reid Wins In Return To Philly

Andy Reid After Chiefs' Win

PHILADELPHIA -- This was one time Andy Reid didn't mind being a big target.

The man in the bull's-eye so often when he coached in Philadelphia was easy for Chiefs receiver Donnie Avery to find. At the end of Kansas City's 26-16 victory over the Eagles in Reid's homecoming Thursday night, Avery gave Reid a Gatorade shower.

Reid already looked strange decked in all red on the visitors' sideline. Now, he was drenched, too -- but smiling, even joking he was doing Gatorade promotions.

More on Chiefs-Eagles

The reclamation project from 2-14 a season ago to a playoff contender this year is far from finished, but the early results have shown Andy Reid's effect on the Chiefs, Ashley Fox writes. Story

• Teicher: Give credit to Chiefs' D
• Sheridan: Turnover-prone Vick back
• NFL Nation: Chiefs | Eagles
• Stats & Info: Smith-to-Avery huge
• SportsNation: Are Chiefs for real?

"Yeah, it was different," Reid said. "I was on the opposite side of the field than I normally am at. But I can't tell you that I was caught up in that part of it."

The result was similar to what he gave Philadelphia in his 14 years in charge of the Eagles, thanks to a dynamic Chiefs defense that forced five turnovers and sacked a harried Michael Vick five times. Vick even limped off after a late fumble -- he said his ankle got rolled, but he was fine -- but stayed around to hug Reid following the final play.

"It was great to see the players that are here," Reid admitted. "I had a chance to talk to them after the game."

Kansas City, which has not had a giveaway in opening 3-0, has won one more game already than it did in 2012 -- after which it hired Reid days after he was fired on the heels of Philly's 4-12 finish.

"It's important," he said of the fast start, "but there's still a lot of season left. There no time to relax on what you have done."

The usually stoic Reid showed some fire to match his bright red outfit late in the first half when he thought the Chiefs got a bad spot. He came out to the hash mark to yell at the officials, then walked off at halftime still gesturing his displeasure.

That was far more emotion than he displayed when he entered the stadium with the Chiefs just before kickoff. Although the Philly fans gave him a warm ovation, some standing in tribute to the man who won 140 games and six division titles for them, Reid walked briskly along the sideline, never turning his gaze toward the stands.

But he later said he recognized the tribute.

"I appreciate the fans and the support they gave me," he said. "That was kind of them."

Chiefs coach Andy Reid was greeted with a standing ovation in his return to Philadelphia on Thursday night.

He certainly had to like much of what he saw on the field from his defense, particularly linebacker Justin Houston.

It was offensive master Reid's defense and special teams that set the tone and put his team ahead early, silencing the sea of green at the Linc. The Chiefs forced four first-half turnovers and Houston had three of their four sacks in the first half. He had another half-sack to start the second half, off a bad snap to Vick, and he forced Vick to fumble with 1:34 remaining. Houston has 6 1/2 sacks in three games.

"The defense, man -- the DBs, the linebackers giving great coverage, the big guys in the middle pushing the pocket," he said. "When they're doing that, it's real easy for me to do my job."

Damaris Johnson's muffed punt return gave Kansas City the ball at the Eagles 8, leading to Ryan Succop's 33-yard field goal for a quick 3-0 lead. Derrick Johnson then deflected Vick's ill-advised throw into the flat and Eric Berry picked it off, going 38 yards with the first interception of the year for the Philly quarterback.

There would be more mistakes as Philadelphia (1-2) lost its eighth straight home game.

"I take full responsibility," Vick said. "I didn't get the offense going. I didn't get the tempo going. We didn't play well by any stretch. We didn't execute at all and we didn't play the way we're capable of."

But after falling behind 10-0, Vick got the Eagles' no-huddle, fast-tempo offense in gear with the longest run of his 12-year career. He burst up the middle, shook off two attempted tackles and sped 61 yards. Two plays later, it was his arm doing the damage. Under a heavy rush, he stood in and led Jason Avant perfectly in the left corner of the end zone for a 22-yard score.

Third-And-Long For Chiefs

The Chiefs are just the sixth team since 1970 to start a season 3-0 after managing just two or fewer wins the previous season. But none of the teams before them made the playoffs.

That three-play, 87-yard spurt epitomized the fast-paced offense coach Chip Kelly brought from Oregon in replacing Reid. But Kelly got cute, going for a 2-point conversion on tight end Zach Ertz's run that failed.

The takeaways kept the Chiefs in front. And after Avery turned a short pass into a 51-yard gain thanks to sloppy Eagles tackling, Succop made a 31-yard field goal. He kicked a 34-yarder moments later after another turnover, Sean Smith's interception, for a 16-6 halftime edge.

Avery had a big night, finishing with seven catches for 141 yards.

Alex Henery's 29-yard field goal was the only scoring of a sloppy third quarter, and when Jamaal Charles surged around right end for a 3-yard TD early in the fourth quarter, Reid's return was a rousing success. Not even LeSean McCoy's 41-yard TD run with 11:36 remaining could spoil that.

"This was definitely bigger than coach Reid, and he would be the first to admit that," Smith said. "This was about us as an organization, as a team, to go out there and be 3-0, which is big in the NFL."

Game notes

The Eagles retired Donovan McNabb's No. 5 jersey at halftime. ... The Chiefs are the fifth team to go 3-0 after losing 14 games or more the previous season. ... Kansas City came into the game tied for the league lead in sacks and now has 15. ... Chiefs LG Jeff Allen injured his groin and CB Brandon Flowers aggravated a knee injury,

I expect those selected as TESTORS from those who volunteered will know, but the graphics looked oddly reminiscent of games of old. I would prefer functionality over pretty graphics. Eve On-line went to a high graphics version giving people the choice to opt out. To achieve maximum playability most players set aside whistles and bells to just play the game better with less latency. Are we simplifying the game in order to have the DOT look like a real person? If so, an interesting trade off.
We'll see.

I loved watching KC beat down the Eagles, thus proving my point they are a force to be reckoned with. All I heard last weekend is how bad Dallas is because they lost to the Chiefs. Well my friends, The Chiefs are real, and their Defense is potentially one of the best.

Alex Smith's game management, Chiefs defense beats Eagles

AlexSmith had a fantastic drive in the fourth quarter to ice the game. (USATSI) Alex Smith leads a fantastic 23-play drive in the fourth quarter to ice the game. (USATSI)

Andy Reid has changed the trajectory of the Chiefs organization. That much was clear the first two weeks of the season when Kansas City traveled to Jacksonville and dominated in Week 1 and then as the Chiefs survived the Cowboys in Week 2.

But the first big road test occurred Thursday when the Chiefs traveled to Reid's old stomping grounds, before a crowd that actually gave him a standing ovation before the game. Then, Kansas City celebrated Reid's homecoming by taking Philadelphia's newfangled offense and rendering it mostly obsolete during the Chiefs 26-16 victory.

"It was good to come back like this," Reid told NFL Network after the game. "You never think you're going to be in these shoes. But nowhere has red felt better than today."

NFL Grades
Eagles offense sputters

Even with plenty of talented weapons on offense, Kansas City is probably going to be held back some (or much) of the time by Alex Smith. There were plenty of times Thursday he showed why 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh was eager to replace him with Colin Kaepernick last season. Smith is an average quarterback, and to expect much more from him is a folly.

Until, that is, the Kansas City's second-to-last drive of the game when the NFL's game manager managed the game especially well.

Here was the scene: LeSean McCoy had just pulled the Eagles within seven points of the lead with a 41-yard score, and the crowd, finally with reason to cheer, was doing so at the expense of its former coach. Then, Dexter McCluster dropped the kickoff, giving the Chiefs the ball at their own 5-yard line.

Reid's road back
Former Eagles coach's return to Philly a big success

When you've got Smith and 95 yards to go to ice the game with 11:31 to play, that's not usually a great combination.

But in this case, Smith, who put together a 22-of-35, 273-yard performance, was fantastic. He went 5 for 6 on the drive, giving Ryan Succop a chance at the 38-yard field goal that gave the Chiefs a 10-point lead. The drive drained 8:15 off the clock and effectively dissolved Philadelphia's chance to win.

“We had to chase field position and eat some clock and give our defense a chance to rest,” Smith said after the game. “We had some big conversions on third down.”

The Chiefs generally struggled on third downs throughout the game, but Smith helped convert a third-and-10 and a third-and-1 on that particular drive. And it continued Smith's recent NFL success.

Alex Smith's last 17 starts: 3 losses, 24 touchdowns, 5 interceptions.
— Peter King (@SI_PeterKing) September 20, 2013

But aside from that one impressive drive, the key for the Chiefs on the night was the play of their defense.

Sure, there were some hiccups. Michael Vick notched a career-high 61-yard run in the first quarter that set up the Eagles' first touchdown, and McCoy, after leaving the game in the second quarter with an injured leg, scampered for the 41-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 23-16 early in the fourth quarter.

But overall, the Chiefs stopped Chip Kelly's offense from doing much damage. Certainly, Philadelphia was nothing like the squad that decimated the Redskins defense in the first half in Week 1. Instead, the Chiefs forced two interceptions from Vick and recovered three fumbles.

Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston was credited with 3.5 sacks. Eric Berry, with a pick-6, and Sean Smith each got themselves an interception as well.

The Chiefs? Zero turnovers.

But all is not well with the Kansas City offense. Dwayne Bowe was a non-factor, and you don't want to have to count solely on Donnie Avery (seven catches, 141 yards) making huge plays out of intermediate crossing routes and Jamaal Charles putting together 172 yards of total offense.

A team trying to make the playoffs on that foundation will have a tough slog. But ...

The team is 3-0 now, and Reid -- the man coming home to a home that wanted nothing to do with him the past two seasons -- seemingly is the main reason why. In one single offseason, he seems to have changed everything in Kansas City.

Bengals are tough. Not surprised that beat the slackers.

I have a current bet with a friend of mine on here, where I bet the chiefs would win their division. So I'm not surprised by 3-0

Lol @ RGO-3

Still can't believe niners got beat like they did...

And did anybody watch the Cleveland game? I live in Ohio so it was on locally, and I just gotta say... Lolvikings.

You posted this in the GG thread, but I'm replying here in the discussion thread.

Will the graphics enhanced truly be an improvement? I'm not sure.
Eve-Online vastly improved graphics and affected playability by increasing latency.

GLB is a different animal. Its servers will bear the majority of any such burden but may increase.
download time for us as we wait on those servers to refresh data.

I look forward to evaluating GLB2, but I am not certain what the intent is by the powers that be.

What % of players will abandon GLB for GLB2?

Will GLB become a Western ghost town?

I dunno.
