So basically, players will cost the same, you will just burn through flex faster.

We've seen the opposite be true. There's a far bigger gap now between the WL / Elite Pro and the average Pro team than there used to be. Longer plateau doesn't make teams any better, it just extends their peak. That's why you see a whole bunch of teams from the same network in the WL now, while correspondingly you see fewer first-time WL participants than you used to because those spots have been taken up by the networks. Under the old system, some of those network dots would have been replacing the older ones.

Now that being said, it's unquestionably true that extended plateau has increased competition between the elite teams because you have more elite dots for longer. That's a good thing for those who are able to participate, but sucks for everyone on the outside looking in.

The elite teams are dominant because of coordination. Yes it drives more network teams up because they are full of the better coordinators and doing several teams. That isn't a problem with plateau tho, that is just a problem with lack of good coordinators.

Guys you're not burning through flex faster at all. You're gonna spend the same amount of money and get more players out of it.

Take Madcow's example. His player will be aged somewhere between 200 and 240 under the new system, which means his decline is going to be funky (will start on day 27 or something), but everyone will be on the same page with that and it shouldn't provide an advantage or disadvantage at all.

this confused me more.

No that's not true at all. Look at it this way.

Currently to play a QB through plateau it cost the following:

Creation Cost: 300 flex
Boosts (36): 10,800 flex
CEQ: 900 flex
Total: 12,000 flex
Days: 784
Flex per day: 15.31

In new system:

Creation Cost: 300 flex
Boosts (21-24): 6300-7200 flex
CEQ: 900-1100 flex
Total: 7500-8600 flex
Days: 560
Flex per day: 13.39-15.36

But on a per season basis, 12000/14 seasons, is ~850/season.
8600/10 seasons is 860/season.

So this is my take;

It's really mostly about the accelerated growth of a dot. I don't think it will have any major affect on the dots being built; meaning training, boosting, etc will still be happening at around the same levels [boosting from 24 to 25 to start VA's etc], it just means everything will happen a bit faster middle of the second season as opposed to the beginning of the 3rd season.

Instead of being level 23 after season 2, the dots will now be level 29. Should make things a little better overall.

Sound about right?
