I agree with the cash being useful to dress up your dot. I know to many of us, including myself, that this seems pretty stupid. However, this is something that may hold a new players interest a little longer. It must be a drag to sign up, apply your SP's, only to find out your new team doesn't play a game for 43 hours. If there was something to fill the down time in the beginning it may keep more new players here.

There were a few ideas on here that could be made that wouldn't affect player builds. I like being able to add a box that you could add a players best plays. I have put replays on recruiting pages before, and to have them on the players page would make this easier. I also like being able to change the colors of EQ. It sounds lame, but again this would give new players something to do after they spent all of 5 seconds training their new dot.

Maybe a player could purchase the option to change his players page to the colors of his team?
Make player name changes cost $1000
Use cash to buy special GLB avatars
Use cash to buy a banner on a players page that says something like " Three time ST's MVP", maybe even put this on the agents home page playerlink.

All of that could be done without involving any in game mechanics.

I would go with even more game relevant than that, but this TOO is also a good thing.

Its one thing that people do not grok in game suggestion threads - that just because its not something YOU would enjoy it does not mean no one would enjoy it, nor that it would be bad for the game. Baskin Robbins would never have become Baskin Robbins to feed you ice cream if the only thing they sold was your favorite flavor, after all.

Just a suggestion, lets not use player cash to be used in what ever form in helping a player on his build.
Let's just have the player cash to be used like in purchasing a gold necklace, an airplane, a house or whatever stuff that we can just store on a player's profile.

Because if we use player cash again be a part of how a player build is made/determined then we are introducing exploits again to this game.

Won't it be nice that you own a player and he owns an island in the bahamas with 2 sports cars and airplane and possibly a yacht?

YOU should take into account that at Baskin Robbins, they're introducing a new flavor of the month doesn't impact how I like to eat my favorite or affect it's taste.

Anything that negatively affects how teams are recruited and built (and this would, no matter how blind to the fact YOU want to be) should not be added just because agents who don't own or manage a team are bored with what they can do with their player. Get more involved in the WHOLE game, and you won't really care whether a player can buy/pimp a crib.

The negative effects of the money on the rest of the game is why GLB basically did away with money being a factor in the first place.

I like the idea of something like a crib. Each player has a crib and he can decorate it with items he purchases. Anyone who has played 2K games knows what I am talking about. It is just for fun though. It doesn't affect the game or his performance. But I still think people would enjoy tinkering with it, especially if others could see it or if you could set it to public so others could see it. If every player has a crib and a ton of items they can buy and unlock, they will do, or at least most of them will just because it's there. Heck, Animal Crossing was entirely based on this decorating concept and that is a pretty fun game.

Hmm the more items in that players crib the more famous the dot...leading to maybe more team fan support that increases team revenue at the same time.....

Win,Win IMO.

Definitely like the crib idea. Anything like this that gives player-agents something amusing to do, without impacting on game-performance, and which makes dots more "individual", seems like a good plan to me.

+1

The RPG part of this game is sorely lacking. Doing stuff with the money might add some of that feel to the game.
