i never noticed much detail on the OP of this suggestion either
well that still raises the question as to why my suggestion has been ignored for voting when there hasn't even been one negative comment onnit and it would achieve a similar desired outcome:

How would they keep track of an owner who OC's for example?

Yes. You NEED the add the option for people to be defined as MULTIPLE GM roles on the same team though. Such as Owner and OC and DC, or co-owner and OC and DC.

Obv.

if there are no OC/DC GM positions filled on the team. then it should goto the owner by default

Having a great winning record in the normal season and finishing off without a trophy doesn't really let anyone know you did well I like the idea of win loss records on the homepage.

All this is going to do is make it HARDER for worse teams to get good coaches... there is also the potential that agents will start demanding coaching positions to join a team.

why is it you always look at these things from the perspective of entitlement?

just for once try to visualize how an intelligent and ambitious person would be impacted
rather then a lazy and dull one who wants something for nothing.

the dullard will always find something to complain about.
the ambitious will find a way to use it to advantage.

THIS!!!!

Plus...all it does is bring the whole lolGM argument into play more!

If there is a day where you can make an owner also a GM it won't make me happy.

There is a MAJOR flaw in this imo.

I'm going on a limb and am probably going to sound like an ass, but a -1 here. You will limit people to only coaching teams with rosters they like and will do well with. I know several people who coach teams of friends teams' who are in total shambles, with nothing to help them out. 0-16 or 2-14 will not add to their coaching %age, even if it's just to try and help someone out. Or someone who OC/DCs a team, and they don't comply with his tactics, and end up losing games. Back in season 4 or 5 I took the team with the longest losing streak in GLB (60+) and helped them turn things around, but it took a whole season to convince the owner his players sucked, they were way underleveled and he needed to start over. I know not many people help out the needy, but to those that do it will make them seem like a worse coach than they are.

Sometimes I like to help struggling or new teams, and I worry that something like this would make people less inclined to do so unless they can opt-out of having those stats count, which would kind of defeat the whole point.

I think the kind of person who is willing to help out a bad team in the first place isn't the kind of person who's suddenly going to start trying to stroke their e-peen (so to speak) as soon as the wins and losses are tracked.

Would you two be less likely to take those jobs just because your record would look bad?

Same as above, but I tend to find that finding people to coordinate, especially at the lower levels, is pretty difficult in the first place. I do the coordinating for my own team, partly because I know I know what I'm doing and am perfectly happy to do it, but the team I OC, I took the job originally because I had signed some players there and we couldn't find an OC.

Yes I would very seriously not help teams if it makes me look bad. If I am going to have a record count, I don't want it to be a bad team. That's why I stopped owning a team, I couldn't put the time and effort into it, so instead of churning out an 8-8 team every season I sold it.

So in other words my record sucks as an OC/DC/STC????

It just will NOT work at all until you can name anyone a task including the owner and also allow multiple tasks.

I've always thought you should be able to recruit OCs and DCs the same way you do players. This would make finding a good coordinator much easier.

I'm sure the stats would have to come from non-blowout games, though, or else you'd be stuck looking at a bunch of OCs whose teams average 270 PPG and DCs who average 9 PPG. If there was more parity in GLB, this idea would be much more useful, but I give it a thumbs up anyway.
