good idea imo, I do the manual thing too using bonus tokens but I'd like it anyway

If this idea is implemented, I can see people crying to support when a breakthrough, or their own stupidity, knocks the bar over.
but I wanted it to stop at 99% waaaaaaa waaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaa
I say just leave it as it is so as to not confuse or upset the proles.
This IMO. Not everything should be automated.

The thread Add "Percent Trained" as an option to training goal on auto-train page has been merged into this thread

It would be nice to be able to set my auto-train so that it will continue until an attribute has been trained to a certain %. This would be particularly useful later in a career when a dot is light training a stat to bring it to ~99% trained.
For example, on one of my dots, I'm light training jumping from 18% to ~99% at 9% a pop. It would be nice, instead of manually doing it each day, if I could just set it to auto-train jumping on light until the % is 90 or greater.
The framework is already there, with the 1-100 options on the auto-trainer, it would just need to add a check for the training percentage of a certain stat.

Harder than it sounds, when you really think about it. Consider the following scenario:
I am at 97% strength, I have it set to train until at 99% (or higher).
Next day rolls around, it trains and gives me +10%. Now I am at 7%.
7 is less than 99, auto training keeps going.
How to handle this exactly?

add a second drop down for decimals/percents. Right now I can set it as "train speed to 55." After the 55 add a second box that is defaulted to 0 but goes to 99. I would select 55 in the first box and 85 in the second box. Once training gets to 55.85 (or 55 & 85%) or greater it stops.

-1, not really a fan of the whole "train it to 99% and wait" thing anyway, giving an automated option to reinforce this behavior is a bad idea.

they should make it training to the first decimal. I could set training to 54.8 for example (or 54 and 80%)
As soon as it surpasses that I can manually train. They can even make the decimal a second drop down after the main number so people that dont want to bother can ignore it.
I dont see a legit reason not to make this change

Kinda tough to do with breakthroughs.
You'd just have to be smart about what you set it to. So you wouldn't set it to 99%, you'd set it to something a bit less than the increment you're training at and then take care of the last train or two yourself.
