Note to you - they're removing Zone Specialist, Scat Back, and Jackhammer.

So no, you can't just get them.

Note to you, this information is on the public forum, in the appropriate areas. If you don't follow up on the game, then don't get pissy when you miss out on some information. Props to you for moving this information to the GLB main forum, but I'm not feeling the whole part of this.

I think the point is that this kind of information should be consolidated and readily available without having to dig through the forums and threads.. I completely agree with the OP that information sharing is a big weakness. Creating a thread in the "appropriate" forum does not fix this.

So, Catch makes it completely public that if you have points in those VAs, you can continue to invest in them, but that the SA version of them won't stack with the VA, and you're angry because?

You don't have to pick "those archetypes" to get the ability. If you wanted, you could pick a man cover CB, but invest in Zone Specialist. You don't have to pick Zone archetype to get Zone Specialist.

They are, but the VA versions of these are supposed to be much more powerful than the SA version that they are about to implement. If you want Scat Back, Zone Specialist, or Jackhammer on your player, you're better off having it as a VA as opposed to picking it as your new SA.

This is their way of nerfing down those abilities without pissing off all the people who have built their players around these VA's.

It was made public, and it seems like a decent balance to me to allows a choice for those that have it or wanted it.

I sit around all day reading GLB threads and I didnīt see it. TBH, I would have been mightily pssied off to discover that some backs still have the old Scat Back VA and my FB doesnīt just because it was posted in some thread somewhere.

Not only that, but in the context of the question stated in the original post, people are obviously looking for loopholes in the system. That small gem of knowledge fell through the cracks and is circulating in elite team forums everywhere. The layman will have no idea until it's too late and he can never get these VAs again.

Sure, information sharing is a problem, but so is a system with loopholes.

I'm sure everyone wants it. Doesn't mean they were at a point in their build plan where they had it.

Scat Back and Zone Specialist are not part of any build plan that I know. They're required VAs for certain roles that allow specilized players to perform more generic roles. This is exactly what Archtypes were supposed to avoid.

Remove these VAs and force these people into picking a specialization if they want those bonuses. That's the logical path.

Yes it is public, but hidden in a huge monster thread.

So, are you proposing that every change being made needs to be put in an announcement? I think that's overkill, ESPECIALLY when there are multiple new forums dedicated specifically to making this information public.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread_list.pl?forum_id=8213&team_id=0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread_list.pl?forum_id=7753

And then there's a specific forum dedicated JUST to the test server.

TBQH, I now know about it, roughly where itīs supposed to be and who posted the info, but I canīt find it. Now imagine I werenīt even looking for it. And you call this a good information policy because?

No kidding. Apparently it is our duty to browse through things they are looking at, things they are probably going to change and things that are going to change....and find all that amongst the comments of hundreds of posters debating the issue. Add to it the forum maze where to get to some of the information you have to find a sub forum of another sub forum.

Bizzare.

Please justify a loophole in the system. Why should there be one in the first place.

RESET THOSE VAs.

Stop trying to derail the topic with semantics and side arguments. Fix the real issue.

People don't build players around Zone Specialist and Scat Back. Those were borderline exploits as-is.

If people really wanted their players to fill those roles they'd pick the new archtype. Currently, people are doing stuff like stacking Shutdown Coverage, Ball Hawk, and Zone Speclialist, and having a CB that can do it all. They're also doing stuff like making power HBs with 48 catching, and using Scat Back to turn that HB into a power pass catcher. That stuff doesn't fall into the scope of the new Archtype system. There's no use in letting this continue because people were NOT building players specifically for these VAs in the first place.

Not going to get into a building argument with you here, but you're right in that the VA was exploit-y. And you're right in that it doesn't necessarily fall in the archetype system, but all these types of players are still going to exist in the new system as well.

Powerbacks will still have the option to choose Scat Back as their new extra SA.

CB's will still get Shutdown Coverage SA, Ball Hawk VA, and get to choose Zone Specialist as their new SA. They just won't be able to stack it with Jackhammer anymore.

Using the forums as they are (especially how quickly they multiply) as the main way of communicating the nuances of the constant game changes is exhausting to keep up with for anyone but the hard-core players. We need 1 place where people could go to get this information as opposed to having to troll through threads that quickly become 5-500 pages long. I know they're doing a better job with the Wiki now, but keeping that reliably updated would be one possible answer.

So that people who have invested in them in the past aren't screwed and forced to pick something else, for the same reason your skills aren't all changed since the new archetypes are coming out.

That doesn't say anything about dropping 1 point into them and being able to add 14 more at any later time.
