Why phase it out? That is the issue to me. 7.5 isn't really that big of a deal, and if you gotta keep a player at each position to get it, it might not be worth losing a capable backup anymore. I just think the phasing part is stupid more than anything else, either keep it forever with a nerf, or remove it. Don't do this bullshit where we have it one day gone the next.

Gotta agree with this. A nerfed mentor is ok, deleted mentor is ok. Nerfed mentor to delete it, not ok.

I guess that instead of fixing it, reducing it to 7.5% makes it less obvious that it is broke.

Agreed. Shoulda just renamed that va to sucker, and told everyone it gives over9000% increase to speed/agility/str, and then watched as the bug mods tell us its working as intended

I too wonder why it's being phased out like this.

Bort didn't want to remove Mentor just yet because it'll eventually be replaced in some shape or form, still figuring out how we're going to work it so he kept it there in a reduced form. I actually suggested he just remove it completely, we'll see what he says.

Probably agree with this....a one season cut max bonus by 70%, then plan to remove it altogether the following season?

Could probably keep more interest in an extra season for older players at 10% cap @ .67 per VP point .

The 25% was probably over-powered, but either leave it at a reasonable level or get rid of it....

we just created a bunch of special teams mentors this season. so we kinda need to know for sure if mentor is going to be eliminated for sure if possible.

I hate to say the word definitely because until something actually happens it's not set in stone. It is most likely that mentor will be eliminated within the next 2-3 seasons.

that works for me. we'll just start our new batch next season without mentors and retire the current special teams mentors.

yea but I don't want to pre-emptively announce anything until we've got the details figured out and have specifics. I think it's best to wait until things are more certain then to say something that is most likely going to change in the next month. But yes, as some people have alluded, it does have to do with coaches (in a much more modified version than the original implementation was going to be). As we have more details on that, I can assure you they will be announced/discussed.

I'd be for the reset just to see the common don't expect VA resets to be a regular occurrence line. Only reason I was keeping my current players was the potential to Mentor now it looks like I don't have reason to keep players past the mid 20's.

Anyone else notice that all the new changes are a ploy to get you to start over. Retirement over a certain amount of days and then rebuild. With the amount of players on GLB the percentages for the house are off the charts.

The revolving door is spinning faster but a very smart businesslike move by management.

What they mean by phasing it out is bringing in coaches to make us pay more flex.
