Testing if QB recognizes Open Man if not in Progression ~ Stobie

Oops. Hopefully this will be fixed before the season. Didn't watch the whole thing but every time the CB blitz came the QB never saw/or found the open man.

The first game you linked makes me cringe. QBs seem to lock onto a receiver, follow him, then decide to check down. Originally, the check down was insanely fast. Now, it's slow as hell. QBs need to be able to check, recognize, and react. The farther down field the receiver is, the longer it takes to "recognize". The closer he is, the easier it should be.

Yea Stobie's game looks really bad for some reason. I think it was his pigeon holed QB progression settings. Other games actually look pretty okay.

Hurries and sacks are way up right now though right now.

i assume those are the 'equipped' attributes considering there's a TE with 110 speed so yeah, there's some less than stellar builds in these games

As Hik wrote, Stobie was experimenting...I know he was doing games where he had just 1 WR targeted on all 5 reads. He also had plays where the only target was set to stay in to block. Didn't look at the game you linked, but some odd things are being tested. So, unless the tester provides an explanation, I'd take anything you see with a big grain of salt. I just got done reviewing 3 tests and was actually VERY encouraged with how it's coming together...BTW, you can now actually throw legit bombs

check out the listed speed for some of these guys then watch the results on the speed script
first play of the game

the guy returning the ball, no special teams SA or VAs, listed speed is 95 yet he's rocking a 40 on the speed script
same for the Speed WR1 that tackles him.
Elusive HB1 with 86 listed speed hits 35 on the script
so that makes me think there's hidden equipment that isnt listed. ok fine, but that would mean the receiving TE with a listed 110 speed is a natural 110 speed which is ... odd. but he only hits 31 on the script, so maybe his hidden equipment isnt in speed?

so whats going on with the test builds?

Bort hasn't been able to get EQ to show up

PS...The other confusing thing is that I made lvl 40s on steriods to be legit backups to the lvl 70s. We can't make lvl 70s, only Hazy/Catch can. So, he made enough to create starting lineups and then ran out of time. So, I edited the skills of lvl 40s up to make them play like legit lvl 70s (only have lvl 40 EQ, so had to jack their base skills up higher to compensate).

I suggested that we need to get rid of the lvl 40s (their abnormally high raw skills occasionally cause issues with vets like Scat Back), Catch agreed and will be creating more lvl 70s as soon as the off ssn rush is over

PP, a lot of the builds from Jacksonville and Tragic thatare used in much of your tests are still kind of weak even ex-equip. Most of the players I've looked at max out attributes at 73. I know you've put a lot of effort in and I know there are limitations on the builds, but it begs the question...are these builds realistic enough to be good tests?

I'm worried when teams of legit lvl 70s start simming on Sunday that we're going to find a lot of over/underpowered changes.

It's not only possible, but fairly probable that there will be over/under powered changes. The plan is to adjust accordingly. Frankly, that's a big part of why Bort went to 4 PS games ths ssn. Part was to give OCs a chance to get used to the Audibles and targeting. The other part was so we'd have time to rebalance where needed.

what I do find kind of ironic though is that some of the testers were "commenting" that the builds were too good before. So, I adjusted them down a little. Now, they're not good enough

Just as a bit of an aside- a 106 str center is very poor. So poor that I wouldn't recruit them when I was in cap 46.
