Yeah, I think that is what we somewhat agreed on, 4 for most positions, 3 for others.

Also...just because I suggested the option of a "custom" archetype, it doesn't meant it will happen. I'm obviously going to push for it since I think it would be a good addition, but yeah, probably conflict with a lot of stuff.

The issues I see are a) sometimes people change build plans later in their career b) it will encourage cookie cutter builds vs. if you could choose your own 6 ALGs, you get more diversity as people will try different things, and c) if power or elusive is considered better, then everyone will gravitate towards one since you still need most of the main attributes to one degree or another - e.g. power backs will pick the combo tree cause you'd rather have agility than blocking (blocking, really???) to go with strength.

Why not just have every position have 5 majors and 5 minors and you get to pick them? That would encourage the most diverse builds and eliminate flaws like OC having an advantage over NT because the OC has better ALG.


I completely disagree that you need to be "connected" to get a level 70 dot into the world league. If you built a good enough dot, and make some effort (post an add, contact a few owners), you'll have no trouble being on a WL team.

If you're build sucks, then, well, what do you expect?

Is my original archetype suggestion thread from over a year ago part of the discussion over there? Just curious. There was lots of good feedback on the topic in that thread from what I recall.

As a longtime vet, I would love custom archetypes. It would be great to do some more groundbreaking new build type stuff again.

Whats the status on juke/elusive based WR's? Will they still be the dots everyone doesnt want to own? Or is there some change to the CB's 360 degree vision that should allow them to get juked?

Review the latest test I posted...They're about where they need to be, IMO. Anything more and you risk GLB turning into Arena League ball

Yes, today that is the case.

My argument is that will not necessarily be the case in the future if the user base grows again. I think extra plateau and 50 man limit is a permanent solution to a short term issue. Haven't we learned 100 times over that those p much always backfire after a couple of seasons?

Honestly, it doesn't bother me if we do it. We perpetuate our franchise through farm teams so one more plateau season = one more season between farm teams = less FP out of my pocket. I'm not sure it's good for the future of the game though. GLB has already become too preferential to the power users, imo.

More I think about this the more it sounds like a terrible idea... It has the potential to break the game and also severely disadvantages builds from a season earlier.

Breaking the game: this is just going to lead to more speed/agility on skill players which means d has to respond with more speed/agility and we go back to the flames era. That doesn't sound like an improvement. There are other potential abuses I can see as well like now if you want a 120 speed wr you have to settle for 65 catch, going forward you'll be able to stay at 120 and have 85 catch. Add on possession, reliable, etc. And passing game is unstoppable regardless of how cbs respond.

Imbalance vs prior seasons: so now if I want a power wr I have to wait til like lvl 40 to train strength because I need to train things that level first. That means it's a push to get to 68 natural by end build. Now if I can choose to alg 0.5 on strength, I can put 27 to start in it, quickly take it to 60 and then let it alg to 75 or 80 without giving up too much speed/agility. So any power wr created a season before this change needs to retire and start over.

Note this works both ways. If c now alg 0.5 instead of 1.0 then the recent c builds will be viable several seasons into decline vs the new ones. If you create a c under the new alg, he'll never be needed in pro/wl because prior c's won't retire.

Again, I'd really like to fix alg but I think there are some big imbalance issues it will cause for 2 or 3 seasons (starting in like s22 or so).

Just because some recent dots might get hosed doesn't mean it wouldn't improve the game. And it would improve the game.

was this some of the previous work you did? I followed really closely for awhile, then the holidays came and didnt check on things for awhile.
