0-0-0-0-0

I'll be leveling tommorrow and boosting 3 levels soon. I plan on puting one or two points on wrap-up tackle. Then maybe a couple on closing speed and a couple other coverage abilities. Then improving my agility, vision, and tackling. Oh and maybe another point or two on stamina (just so I can keep playing on Hard every game).

Any thoughts on my intentions? Your advice/recommendations are appreciated.

You need some in vision, tackling, but strength is more important now.

Stamina is not needed once it hits the 37+ range, it'll just be overkill.

Yeah I wasn't planning on doing anything with stamina, but this last game I played 65 plays and dropped to 70 energy. So I don't know.

That's weird. I play around 68 every game and have 79 energy and have 37 in the stamina settings.

Is your team's defense on the field a lot?

he doesn't completely understand stamina there is an exp cap but I want to be on the field as much as possible and stamina gets you more time to pad your stats as well as when your on the field you will play better with higher stamina

Uh, we have a losing record so probably? Before this last game I was playing about the same amount and only dropped to 78 energy (similar to you). I'll wait until the next game and see what happens.

I agree with most of you guys that the coverage ability skills are pretty sweet but the thing about hard hitter tree, they are AWESOME when you need them to work. For instance; we were up by a touchdown in the 4th quarter, the opponents HB cut around the outside for a nice run. Their guards made a nice path straight for the endzone for him to run through. Luckily, I hit him at the one yard line causing a fumble. That is with having tactics setup for wrap up tackles also.

My skill tree looks like this:
2-2-1-1-1
2-1-1-1-1

Im thinking about getting the custom equipment that adds +1 into your skill tree of your selection. I would put it into Coverage.

Coverage Safety

I used my custom equipment to boost my hitter tree because I don't really want to waste valuable points into it. However once I start getting to higher levels in my ability tree I might just make new custom equipment and put my plus one abilities on points that would originally cost 5 points to add an extra point into. Like my coverage tree. I think in the long run it will be worth the flex points to do. I'd rather pick the ball off then cause a fumble anyways. Generally your abilities are based upon your stats anyways and strength and tackling aren't my primary stats they are only at like 28 and I probably won't start putting points into them anyhow.

yeah, I have my coverage tree jacked up, and the hard-hitter tree filled with like 1 for each one. coverage skills are really better for a safety imo.

a better question is, how would you compare special-ability points in relation to regular skill points? how do they affect skill points, and how much? any guesses/theories/knowledge/thoughts on this subject?

I would say it's important to get a lot of your attributes pretty high before you start investing in SAs, since a safety has to be good at so many things.

- Work on getting your Speed, Agility, Vision up pretty high
- Get Tackling, Strength up (not so much, but still important)

Then work on SAs. I found SA's have really been helping me lately. I invested in a lot of them early, and my SS was just okay for awhile, but they've been paying off as of late.

Look at that closing speed kick in! I assume it was a combination of that, and one of the hard hitter skills. I really don't have that much invested in the HH skill tree though.

As my FS has hit the highers lvls of attributes I have noticed HUGE gains in his SA. I took mine early before really knowing much. As a result I fell behind the other FS on the team and hes been playing started with me back up and pulling snaps on Special teams. Now that I have reached good attributes and lvl( Will be lvl 17 tomorrow) I have caught up to him and have shown my ability to handle the job. If I was to do it again I would definately wait longer to dump into SA

As a balanced FS, I love them. But I have not spent a point on any for a while because my attributes aren't where I want them before I start putting points into the SA's again. I will admit I put points into SA's when I was level 1 and I wish I hadn't, but I do notice them for sure. I ultimately plan on doing hard hitting but I had to get my coverage attributes and a few SA's from the tree because I feel Safeties have too many responsibilities to lock in on one aspect.

Everybody goes on about how great Superior Vision is (and I don't disagree), but I'm intrigued as to how you can see it in action in games. Has anybody got a good example of a play where they could definitively say 'yep, that's my SV working'?

Well most guys know their player and how he plays so when they watch him after adding poitns, if there is a difference, usually its easy to see.

Vision is overrated guys

Do you mean the attribute or the ability?

Vision is really important IMO...not overrated at all.

I was actually talking about the ability 'Superior Vision' in both safeties trees. And I'm not saying it's overrated, I just wanted to see a few plays where it has clearly made a difference as opposed to, for example, just chucking the extra points in Vision.

I'll go get you a play of really good vision because thats what super vision does it gives you a great boost to your vision and will read the play completely so you can get a jump on a interception or know where the balls going

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=6831454

I'm pretty sure I was in a deep zone but I shift over right near the TE and WR and get an easy interception because I knew the ball would be going there and just have to move a few feet to jump for the ball

Nice play!

So do you think Superior Vision does anything different to simply having high vision? If so, what? If not, at what point should you stop pumping vision and start pumping Superior Vision?
