What are some of your theories about the Special Ability Trees? How important are they to a good build, and what is the best way to approach building them?

I would say for a safety, not to put any points into the trees until after lvl 12 (except for the custom equipment one -put that in at lvl 8)

Closing speed is AWESOME. Totally worth upgrading IMO. My SS gets a HUGE burst of speed when he goes after the ball carrier.

Super vision is really good for DBs

yes but you really should get your vision to at least 40 before you seriously invest in supervision

It's been helping me a lot and my vision is only in the upper 20s

I like all the coverage skills in the SS tree to be honest. Especially Super Vision and Sticky Fingers. Wrap Up Tackle is nice to, reduces a lot of miss tackles.

I've got a FS playing SS and he's been an SS since first signing on. I much prefer the SS trees...supervision is easier to build for the SS, for example, though the first step and change direction attributes would be helpful for any position, so its nice to have those up front.

SS has change direction but doesn't have first step though.

Closing Speed for a SS is awesome, but you need to have the proper agility for it to work. Otherwise, you'd overrun the ball carrier too often

I'm getting my SS agility to 45, I think that should be enough to prevent mishaps such as over running the ball ^

I haven't seen that happen, luckily. Closing Speed is awesome though.

I just turned lv 16 and put my 1st points into the SA tree, I am an advocate of really defining your player before adding to the SA tree, I have almost 5 stats in there 40's which are SPD STR AGI VIS TAK. I just added 3 points into change direction and the vision attribute in the SA Cover tree.

It was happening to me on pitch plays

I have really good vision, so I'd get a good jump on the play, and closing speed would kick in, and I'd go flying into one of their blockers actually under-running the ball. It's not like the blocker went into me either...I went into the blocker.

I would show some replays but I forgot exactly which game I had started adding more points into agility.

And yes, 45 should be enough agility to not have that problem.

I 50 in vision, 50 in speed, and lvl 7 Super Vision and my FS is very good at playing sideline-to-sideline.

Now I just need more stamina, catching, and agility.
