When you first create your player, his major and minor attributes will be set to 10. All other attributes will be set to 8. You will be given 15-23 points to assign at creation. You must assign these points or they will be automatically distributed. An attribute cannot go over 25 upon initial creation. Height and weight can also be adjusted but it will affect agility, stamina, jumping and vision attributes after creation.

I edited original post here to reflect this.

I must have posted your guide in 200 D-league forums. lol

Now if the S1 and S2 vets would grow the hell up and stop trolling those threads...

After having access to all the D-league forums I have I can see why so many new users walk away from the game right after they sign up.

I'd love to see a part 2 that details how to continue building a player after level 30.

So I shouldn't assign the skill points my player gets when he levels up? *Is confused*

Yes, that would be the general consensus among GLB users.

By waiting until you have enough skill points to take an attribute to the first cap ( http://www.glbwiki.com/index.php?title=Ability_Softcaps ) you can maximize your training of that attribute and get the most out of its natural level gains.

god damn it. Could have used this when I created my first player. Very usefull guide, ofcourse I read it after spending boost and skill points to my player - I'm tottally newb at this. But good to know now, since this first player is kind of a training player anyway(to get to know the game).

No worries, you can always retire him and start over.

You get 100% of the flex that it cost to create the player and 70% of any flex used to boost or purchase custom equipment.

However, you may want to wait until the new archetype system is rolled out.

See: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3768138&page=1#33338165

If you have any players under 80 days old, you will get 100% of all flex used on those players. But I don't think retiring now will get you the 100%, so it's probably best to wait until day 41.

This is nice. Any chance you can add Archetypes to the equation?

true, but it's still a great guide for newer players and should be pushed onto a page that each person is forced to read before they create a first player IMO.
