I see how people don't want anything other than builds to determine the game. But the same people have to admit, that other than the top 2 or 3 teams every year, the other 13-14 teams have no excitement factor other than maybe beating up on a computer team, you have to add the chance,...small as it may be, to at least have a close game against better teams based on HFA.

Some act like this is going to change GLB as we know it. A small boost to confidence, morale, and stamina isn't going to catapult the 1-14 to prominence against the division leader...but in a closely ranked game, maybe if can mean the difference, which home turf SHOULD. Plus, you know it always evens out in the end...for every time you get screwed by HFA, it will also save you.

also, the higher the confidence/morale, the less the fans will effect them.

that was at Michigan though, Michigan is terrible, lol.. if a players confidence came into play, maybe higher confidence negates skill set penalties, and have a veteran attribute that is specifically set to relish the hate from fans

I always thought this was one of the stranger things in GLB. I think it would be very easy to code into the game and its such a huge part of the NFL. Horrible teams often beat undefeated teams (Browns beat Giants on MNF last year), only b/c it was a home game and they were so pumped up.

Now I know for the most part players don't get faster and stronger when they play at home, but they probably get boosts to other stats. I suggest home teams get a boost in Confidence (+5%??), a boost in morale at the beginning of every quarter, and a stamina boost to start the 4th quarter. Maybe even a small boost to the mental attributes and football skills (Catching, Vision, Tackling etc...) That doesn't seem like it would be too hard as long as there weren't a million IF's and Then's exceptions and this always happened, to keep it simple.

People will always complain here when anything has the POSSIBILITY of being unfair (ie: a team luckily getting all their tough games at home)...but its a schedule and even in the NFL, it can be 100 fold harder for some teams than others.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: This may have been posted a million times, but it wasn't in the first 5 pages of suggestions, and it wasn't in Epics

Often time home field advantage is earned. For example; the Dawg Pound, just any place with a nickname really - they have a history of success.

I would like this idea if it was tied to fan support. Maybe introduce a winning history metric, but fan support seems to have that anyway. Some math that benefits a winning organization.

You shouldn't get a blanket homefield advantage for just having a team, and if so, not a large one.

Teams should earn a large home field advantage.

Thats why i'm suggesting have it proportionate to the fan base and the stadium

good stuff, i mean it should be that playing with a huge Fan base like the packers isn't the same as the texans

The sim is supposed to reflect the matchup between two teams worth of builds, not some luck-of-the-draw in regard to who got scheduled to play at home versus on the road.

I can't believe so many of you lack the confidence in your ability to construct good builds and good teams, and instead wish to introduce random chance into the outcome of your season.

The sim is supposed to reflect building teams AND players. so your wrong. Building a stadium should help the team. random chance is a part of football

not only home field advantage, but away field disadvantage needs to be added. makin clutch catches and throws is pretty hard when 20000 people are screaming at you.

should add this to OP imo

i think that the stadium shoud play in somehow, 20,000 screaming fans is alot different then 12,000 and a half empty stadium

agreed. have you ever been at the michigan wolverines stadium? sure its big, but since its built in a whole, all the noise goes straight up, and doesnt effect the players at all, as if nobody was there. same should go with that.
