Is there a way to auto expand all outputs and then collapse them back? That's an awful lot of clicking.

can you incorporate a way to search for all plays that have an entry of FB1 called out as FB?
This way I can easily ensure none of them are passing plays or FB tushes since the guy is solely a blocker?
Or any criteria for that matter?
-Show me all plays where I called out random run
-Show me all plays where I called out QB as the rusher.

Bumpity.

Would love to see this appear on the "current projects" tab in the Changelog.

Well, we got a nice addition
- can select an individual play

Now we need the one that actually matters
- make a play or package of plays which you can title
- select one of these plays, much like custom defense

Once again, here is the comparison
Currently: select a play... still have to modify who runs the routes, who is in which TE/HB/FB slot, etc.
New method: save all of these options, title the play, and call your "custom" play instead. Don't have to change all of these every single time in the AI...

Currently: for a 3rd and short situation, we can select 4-5 plays and set them all to whatever %... all 20 times a short yardage situation appears in our AI
New method: can make a package called "short yardage" which sets 4-5 plays to xx%, and now select the PACKAGE in the gazillion short yardage situations.

Other packages that would be useful for us to create: medium pass, long pass, short pass, etc. Many of us like to use 4-5 passes per game. Now we switch to 4-5 DIFFERENT passes the next game.. have to change all 4-5 20 times in the AI? 100 output changes every 2 days? 2,000 per season? Come on, who cares if we can select the play from a list with pretty pictures. Why not change it in the package, and have it auto-fill through the AI?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The way it would work would be simple.....

1) play "creator" (which really just uses the current plays but allows us to customize depth and route/block assignments)

2) package creator (name the package, then set up a bunch of outputs, set their % to sum to 100%. in creating a package, you can select some of your "custom" plays also, of course)

3) standard AI (you can either select a play as we do now, select a "custom" play, or select a package. If you select a package at 50%, and the package had 4 plays at 25%, the AI just reads this as 4 plays at 12.5%, duh)

This would be SO EASY for offensive coordinators!!!! AAAAUGH MAKE IT HAPPEN

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just think about it... You want to adjust for your next game... all you have to do is change 3-4 packages for passing, short yardage, run right, pitch. Heck, you could have a "pitch" package of one play, but now change the pitch play from singleback to strong I. YOU JUST UPDATED TWENTY "pitch" OUTPUTS IN YOUR AI BY MAKING ONE CHANGE. Or you can switch from a powerback to elusiveback ON EVERY SINGLE RUN BY MAKING ONE CHANGE. Or what else, I'm getting too excited here thinking about it... If you want to add a certain play you don't have a package for in just one game, nothing got harder. Just go to your usual AI, and add it in as a single output.

There is nothing confusing about this... I'm no coder, but it doesn't sound THAT hard to do. Seriously this would be the most user-friendly change that GLB has ever seen.

I'd love a netflix queue-like drag&drop and number-order system for arranging inputs instead of having to click 'move-up' and 'move-down'. It'd save a ton of time when constructing an AI from scratch or just adding new inputs to an already existing AI.

And if that is too difficult, a "add above" or "add below" would be nice, on each of the inputs we have. Instead of adding one to the top and bringing it down by moving up/down a MILLION TIMES. Just right there by move up / move down, have add new above / add new below. In addition to add to bottom / add to top where the current add new is.

Yeah that sounds pretty good and much easier to implement

Unaware of this suggestion I made one of my own.

With my idea the solution is to allow DAI and OAI to load not only a specific play, but to load a 'Package'. Very little change needs to be made to the Advanced AI, just the addition to be able to select a 'Package' and an additional section where you are able to define your packages.

A 'Package' would be a set of outputs that the coach/owner creates. Within this package some things are kept in common. Your Personnel choices, their assignments, etc. So you could createa TE Pass Block Left package, and put the plays you want the TE to do this from all in a single group. Like a normal set of outputs you assign everything in the group a percentage chance that should total 100%.

Then in the AI when you are creating an Input, and then decide on its outputs, you could say 25% chance of using output 'TE Pass Block Left' and then 'Load Package' and you refer to your list of plays where the TE is set for pass blocking left.

So you have a 25% chance to call the TE pass block left and lets say the Package had 5 plays with 20% chance each, so you have an equal chance, to call one of those 5 plays, 25% of the time.

If thats making sense.

It would make the job of creating an AI much easier, while stiill retaining the old system for folks who hate change but for those who do use it, it would allow for a much cleaner looking AI which yould take significantly less time to tweak.

This is even more important now with the ability to select the specific O and D plays you want to run. Having to repetively select plays is a bad idea and is too onerous and the job of coaching/owning a team is far too time intensive as is.

Agreed, the OAI needs to be made more convenient.
I also want to see more options though for OAI to give individual players offensive assignments.
And it would be nice to be able to assign players to 'motion' on plays. I don't want it to just be TE motion and that's it.

Re-looking at this; Enkidu's post added some ideas to the ol' pot.

I've been talking about packages for months! It would be such an improvement, please review my posts in this topic beyond Enkidu, I've made plenty of interface suggestions as well

I think another option would be to allow "chained inputs".

An output for an input could be....
- Follow the next input.

So, maybe I have:

5-WR - 4th and 6+
** Use next input
5-WR - 3rd and 10+
** Use next input
5-WR - Up 21+ outside the 10 yard line
** Use next input
5-WR - Up by 1+, outside the 20, last two minutes
** 25% 3-1-7 defense, no blitz
** 25% 3-1-7 mlb zones
** 50% 3-1-7 DE Cheeze, NT zone.

or something along those, though the "package" idea can easily be used to similar effect.

I would love all of the ideas that Octowned / Enkidu suggested. The packages idea is an absolute MUST!

Another idea, pardon me if it has already been suggested, is to add a drop down to be able to override the intended receiver on the play(s) in the output, basically just a complete list of the possible receivers for any play (WR1 - WR5, TE, HB, FB) and if they selected FB, but there was no FB route, it would just keep the default intended receiver.

I would love this one too because it would turn some currently useless plays into viable options again. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has removed some plays from the playbook entirely due to the intended receiver route causing a loss of yards all the time (WR Screen anyone?).

great idea...packages would be cool for offense...defense would probably be a little tougher...personally, i'd like to see the AIs turned into something more along the lines of this...
http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/SikoraP13/?action=view¤t=NewAISetup.jpg

Just so its easier on the eyes...and it'd be the same as the old AI...you could make the inputs whatever you wanted, and have the ability to make your own outputs...but once you did it would convert to looking like that...so much easier on the eyes imo...much better than a wall of inputs/outputs
