I really really like it. Can't wait to start actually using it.

they should have another drop box for things like fake blitzes where the "blitzer" creeps up tp the line of scrimmage pre-snap, and also have blitz direction in the same drop down box. that way you could fake blitzes to fuck with opposing qb's

A offense formation to look at. For example next to the formation select would be an offensive formation select, this would give DCs an idea of where they are putting their players in relation to the offense.

You should be able to create your own formations, you should be able to pick which positions (FS, SS, MLB, etc...) are on the field and which aren't. And also the idea to show the offensive formations so that we can create a formation or a play specifically for that offensive formation.

Picking the gaps for Blitz is the biggest thing I would like to see added in.

Seeing as the big thing is blitz patterns, and blitzes are the default, maybe make every person preset to man coverage to the obvious person, (i.e. CB1 covers Receiver 1) except the linemen, and with what should also be added, showing the offensive formation, that will be used to automatically set who covers who. And make the preset a Cover 2 if there are enough safeties.

Example:
LOLB - Man Cover - TE
ROLB - Man Cover - HB

Something like that.

you can already do that, it's just a little to vague without showing the offensive formation

How about fixing the current D AI play book so you can slide inputs / outputs between the general area and the individual quarters?

Can we assign these custom plays as an output in the current D AI?

Have an input value of the O you want to face, have that pop into place, then start working on your D output. Save the play and it would go into a stack like the current D AI system.

Can we add additional paramters, like the characteristics of the current D AI system?

Two absolute key things that should be added:

(1) Select WHICH gap to fire. "Blitz" MLB doesn't really give you the impact that "MLB - blitz strongisde B gap" would. When you select "blitz" from the defensive play creator it'd just take one more drop-box to make that one an option.

(2) Contain. Rather then having a DE blitz why can't a DE contain? Again, this could be added to the "blitz" drop-down above.

(3) Ability to auto-adjust for strengths/flow. I'd love the ability to have your OLBs, for example, be able to do one thing if the flow of the play comes towards them and one thing if it goes away from them. I mean, sure, you can play the odds and assume that the play will go strongside if the offense is in a Strong I. Still, I'd like the option to have the ROLB do one thing if the play comes towards him and another thing if the play goes away from him. Same with the LOLB. It seems kind of silly to have the ROLB covering one zone if a lead blocker and the ball carrier are headed right for him. Likewise, if the offense comes out with the TE pass blocking on the "weak" side, any defense in any football team in existence would have the OLBs either flip or have a different assignment.

This could even be added in a drop-down. Maybe give us an option to "stay home" as opposed to just blitz/man/zone. Let an MLB wait for a few counts and then auto-adjust to whatever the offense is doing.

I'd also like to see the pre-season expanded a bit when we get this new defense in our hands. It wouldn't have to be longer, but I'm tired of scheduling a friendly during the pre-season and the soonest I can play the friendly is day 8 or whatever. You really should try to make more slots available so that we can schedule a butt-load of friendlies. This defensive play creator is awesome, but we DC-types need time to make sure that the GLB defense plays the same as the real-life defense and make adjustments.

This. I'd like to know if I'm lining up in a 1-technique, a 3-technique, etc. Let me put my NT into a 1-technique and assign him weakside A so I'm not running in front of 2 O-linemen to get there.

there already is a preset DE Contain, also the Zone setting can be considered a contain

Use this to decide the blitzing schemes, special thanks to prokop!

Secondary man assignments for if the cover target is staying in to block. Options could be to go into a zone. Blitz. Or Cover another target. Option 2 would only be used if his Man he is supposed to cover is staying in to block. Higher vision would let him recognize if he is blocking earlier or not and how fast he switches to option 2.

Say:
MLB Cover Option 1: HB
MLB Cover Option 2: FB

or

MLB Cover Option 1: HB
MLB Cover Option 2: Medium Middle Zone

or

MLB Cover Option 1: HB
MLB Cover Option 2: Blitz

Definately need an option to blitz or cover an alternate receiver or zone if a selected back or TE is staying in to block.

As some have already stated I think stunts would be great. Something I didn't see mentioned was slant's. We used to do that a ton when I played ball in high school, slant to the strong side of the offense or to the long side of the field depending on their formation. I think the DE nerfs were fine, the issue is the lack of options when it comes to blitzing in GLB. I think this defensive play creator is the perfect step in the right direction, but it definitely needs additional features.

-Stunts

-Slants - to explain further detail say you're 0 shading the center (over the ball) and you're slanting left you would be attacking the left shoulder of the offensive right guard. Just another rush style to create confusion for the offensive line. Make the slants individual based though along the defensive line, not just a full unit slant left or right. By setting them up individually you'd be able to set up some great zone blitzes.

-Gap assignments/blitzes - which is similar to slants, but you can gap assign without blitzing. Slants is more in reference to DL rush style, not LB.
