Take a look here. Posted a while back so to keep pro bowl ideas consolidated. These formulas could work quite well with the pro bowl voting system suggested here, and there would hardly ever be ties. However, you won't see much good criticism on a pro bowl idea because people are sick of talking about it (just look at my thread...)

I feel this idea is very different than the other ideas that have surfaced, since there is no voting in mine.

Anyway to make every position equal for MVP award?

Only problem I have with this is, both of my defenses are REALLY good. But I am going to assuming we get a lot less plays per game than other defenses in the league. So they have more chances to get stats than my guys do... since this is formula is based 100% on stats. Maybe divide it by plays per game?

In the NFL, it goes to the people with the best stats, not necessarily the best performer. Michael Turner had a few exciting plays last year and did great while he was in, but Tomlinson got the Pro Bowl nod.

What do you guys think of a multiplier for each position for MVP award score?

like have the average at each position be made equal to each other?

The only thing on the defensive side is you forgot Safeties (2 pts, not the position)

You couldn't be more wrong in your post.
In the NFL, just like every major sport, it goes to the most popular guy atm. Bailey made the pro bowl a few years back when his stats were sub par. Tons of CB's had better stats than him but he made it in on name recognition.
Same went for Manny Ramirez 2 years ago or so in MLB, when he was slumping all season long till after the AllStar Break.

Updated. Gave Safeties *3.5 due to scoring less than TD, but more valuable than a turnover.

What exactly is the LongFG for Kickers. What if a Kicker is liek 75% from 50 and has hit more than the entire league but someone in the league has hit one longer. And other teams that don't get long field goals have Kickers with a slightly better percentage

A FG goal kicker who is 12/16 (total) would get 600 for that part of the total, so the longFG is nothing more than a tiebreaker. The formula rewards kicker who are accurate over many attempts and the LongFG should prevent ties.
