Missed last week and I have to slop this one together. Just a busy time for me as I didn't even get to check the Sofia game until the day after. Anyway, six more weeks to go and we had some solid close games.

LEAGUE SURVIVOR
24 entered but three were eliminated. Starting to get down to the nitty gritty. By my count, only one CP owner remaining (LG 85).

CASUAL TOURNEY
We are down to the Final Four:

Gag vs. Gorillas - The Gorillas maybe the surprise here but there will be no surprise when the Gag runs them over...50-0.
Spiders v. Chiefs - Chiefs took care of the Revenge and will do the same to their other conference foe...27-24.

GAME OF THE WEEK
In the dog fight for the 4th seed in the East the Vancouver Gorillas got a huge W over the Tlingit Warriors. It was not an offensive shootout but a defensive slugfest that dared the O's to do anything (when both punters make the top five players listing - you know the O's are not putting points on the board). With the Warriors racing out to a 13-7 halftime lead the Gorillas owned the second half outscoring the Warriors 10-0. Vancouver wins a tight one that could have playoff ripples for both teams heading down the home stretch...17-13.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
QB Bryant Shook, LG Canucks. The Canucks need wins to catch the Warriors for fourth in the West. Shooks took to the air and completed 20 of 39 passes for 253.5 yards and three TD (only one pick) to get LG the 28-10 win over 3M.

WEEKLY PICKS
Last Week: NA
Overall: 44-10

Not Fast, Just Furious @ Grand Rapids River Rats - Lookie here, a pair of rivals as JF takes a five game win streak into this one. The last game they met up in the conference championship game wtih JF winning 58-0. We'd love to see that again but we won't as the River Rats are fighting for the playoffs but we will nip them in the end...38-31.

LG Canucks @ Vancouver Gorillas - Looking forward to this one as these two fight for a playoff spot. I got the Canucks O slightly better than the Gorilla's D and they'll get the W...27-13.

Chile Chupacabras @ Manhattan Midnight Warriors - 3M did not look good against the other all rush team and this week will look no different against a Chile team hell bent on jamming it down your throat...38-13.

Scott's Turfbuilders @ Sofia Spiders - Spiders get to boost those stats...150-0

Tlingit Warriors @ Magua's Revenge - The Warriors are clinging to the 4th spot in the West but they'll be hard pressed to keep pace with a Revenge team that's playing well on the season...50-0.

GAME OF THE WEEK: Running Gag @ Charlestown Chiefs

These two teams met up twice last season - in the regular season and in the title game. A few things were clear 1) Gag won both games; 2) the games were tight (23-17 and 27-10). The Chiefs tried several routes to victory but at the end of the day they gave up over 4.0 per carry in each game and that hurt them.

Keys for Gag
1. Keep the Chiefs D on their toes with the run/pass.
2. The ground attack for the Chiefs needs to be kept in check.
3. Make the Chiefs earn their points.

Keys for the Chiefs
1. Win the turnover battle.
2. Need to get some yards on the ground.
3. Don't let Gag gain yards on those RB dump offs.

The Chiefs have been cruising on the season but the buck stop here - the monkey on their backs won't be coming off this week as Gag continues owning them...27-20.

POWER FIVE
1. Chiefs - Not overly impressive this week but when a 21 point win isn't eye popping maybe my expectations are to high.
2. Gag - Has a 59 point victory over the River Rats and all signs point to getting better coming down the homestretch.
3. Revenge - Had the easy one against the Turfbuilders.
4. Just Furious - Got a nice W over the Spiders to snap a two game skid (technically three with the GLB tourney - a sigh of relief in the JF camp).
5. Spiders - A 35 point loss hurts but the Spiders have two foes coming up in the next three weeks to right the ship.

Good luck all - heading towards the playoff or a long layoff.

Unfortunately, I think I have to agree with you. They are in another class than the Chiefs.

The season's flying by faster than Ben Johnson breaking the world record while on the juice. We're 11 weeks deep with only five left and things are starting to settle much earlier than anticipated (thought we'd have a heavy run to the end of the season but does not appear that way on paper).

LEAGUE SURVIVOR
We had 21 enter and all move onto week 12.

GAME OF THE WEEK
We did not have many close games and the closest was 16 as the Vancouver Gorillas defeated the LG Canucks. The Gorillas jumped out to a 27 point lead at half (27-0) and things only got interesting as LG put up 14 within the first six minutes of the second half to cut into the the lead but could not get any closer. LG did force three turnovers but only converted those into seven points. Tough loss for LG that may end up crippling their playoff hopes.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
RB BP OGB, Vancouver Gorillas. Was not a killer on the ground with his six carries for 35.5 yards but he was an assasin through the air catching nine passes for 157 yards and a TD.

WEEKLY PICKS
Last Week: 4-2
Overall: 48-12 (80%)

Not Fast, Just Furious @ Chile Chupacabras - JF won the first meeting by 27 points but Chile has been looking better as of late. Don't expect the moon and stars to align as JF will take this one in the second half...31-17.

Scott's Turfbuilders @ LG Canucks - LG won by nearly 100 in the first game and this will be no different...100-0.

Tlingit Warriors @ Running Gag - Warriors were scalped by 61 in week three and expect much of the same here...56-0.

Sofia Spiders @ Charlestown Chiefs - They went to war in week three with the Chiefs winning a high scoring game at 41-38. Expect the reins to be pulled in as the D's play a little betting this go around with the Chiefs getting the regular season sweep...24-23.

Grand Rapids River Rats @ Magua's Revenge - Revenge won by 52 earlier in the year. It won't be that bad this go around but they'll still get the W...38-13.

Manhattan Midnight Warriors @ Vancouver Gorillas - This could be a real good one but the Gorilla O has been MIA most of the season woke up last week when needed and it won't falter here in their biggest game of the season...27-10.

POWER FIVE
1. Charlestown Chiefs] - Knocked the dog snot out of Gag and the monkey is off their back. Seemed to play all innocent leading up to this one - that sunder character...
2. Magua's Revenge - Took the Warriors out to the tee-pee.
3. Not Fast, Just Furious - Took down a rival in convincing fashion.
4. Running Gag - Struggled against the Chiefs, their second blowout loss of the season.
5. Sofia Spiders - Threw up 184 in their gimme game.

PLAYOFF PEAK

WEST There will be a battle for the top seed between JF and Gag while the Chupacabras seemingly have control of the number three seed. The fourth seed is still up for grabs between the Warriors and Canucks. Warriors face off against the top three teams in the conference in consecutive weeks before close with LG and the gimme against Scott's. The LG game could very well be a playoff birth on the line. Thought LG let one slip away this past week in losing to the Gorillas. They'll get a win this week to even out their record with the Warriors then face the top two teams back to back before the BIG Warrior game in week 15. They will likely come down to their final two weeks in determining if they are playoff worthy.

East More sorted than anything with likely the top three seeds to remain intact heading into the playoff (Sofia vs. Revenge in round one - WOW). The Gorillas have finally showed life as they've captured a two game lead over the River Rats and Midnight Warriors for the fourth and final playoff spot. The Gorillas will need to get a win these next two against both RR/MW to basically wrap up the spot as they play the top three seeds in the last three weeks and they've not faired well in those match ups. Have to think the Gorillas minus a huge meltdown control that 4th seed, currently.

That's all folks.

NO ONE'S HOME

I can write them all day folks but you get the gist as the Chiefs are no longer undefeated and Casual Pro has at least every team with a loss...talk about league diversity. Not a real big upset as most of my game of the weeks have gone opposite of who I've chosen (sorry sunder). Overall a ho-hum week with only two games within one score. Twelve left, finish strong.

LEAGUE SURVIVOR
Shake up Thursday as 21 entered and 10 were eliminated. A bit shocked having three people picking me to lose (LG 85, tisk tisk tisk).

GAME OF THE WEEK
As Sofia owner .spider. was jogging off the field Thursday night he sent shock waves through the league. For the big upset you ask - no. For beating a rival team - no. What for you ask? For the double middle fingers sent to the Chiefs sideline followed by a quick throat slash. The game started strong as each team scored a TD in their second possession to make it a 7-7 tie at the end of one - THEN THE DROUGHT CAME (or the D's took over - however you want to phrase the offensive slump). Neither team would score again for twenty three minutes-41 seconds. The Chiefs took a 13-10 lead into the 4th and only the Spiders put up points in the fourth. Keep in mind, the Chiefs came in as the leagues top scoring team at over 60 plus a game but the Spiders said "not on my watch, hold my beer." The Spider D gave up only 333.5 yards, under 100 rushing, and forced an amazing five fumbles (recovering one). The Chiefs stayed in the game by picking off four passes but winning the turnover battle surprisingly did not win this game. Cap tip to both teams on an amazing defensive ball game.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WR Jess Jensen, Sofia Spiders. Jensen set the stage early by evening things up in the first quarter on a 69 yard TD grab. The dot finished the game wtih seven catches for 125 yards and a TD.

Hon. Mention - Vancouver RB Gangreen Sands (23 rushes for 143.5 yards and a TD in the Gorillas 21-14 W over 3M).

WEEKLY PICKS
Last Week: 5-1
Overall: 53-13 (80.3%)

LG Canucks @ Not Fast, Just Furious - LG needs a W but they were beat by 30 in the first meeting and while it won't be as bad it still will be a L...31-20.

Running Gag @ Scott's Turfbuilders - Going to get fugly...200-0.

Chile Chupacabras @ Tlingit Warriors - Warriors were not ready for the ground attack in week two and won't be here...56-3.

Charlestown Chiefs @ Manhattan Midnight Warriors - Warriors face the Chiefs who are still licking their wounds. The Chiefs tell warriors what to do and this one is going to be a tomahawk chop to the throat...59-6.

Magua's Revenge @ Sofia Spiders - This would be GOW but I'm feeling lazy. The Revenge made Sofia look silly but I'm riding the wave of the upset last week and say the Spider's upset the apple cart yet again...23-21.

Vancouver Gorillas @ Grand Rapids River Rats - The Gorillas have won three in a row and put the beat down on RR last go around - chalk up four in a row...38-13.

POWER FIVE
1. Charlestown Chiefs - still on top with a loss...YES.
2. Magua's Revenge - threw up 86 and shutout GR.
3. Not Fast, Just Furious - beat Chile by 32.
4. Sofia Spiders - pulled off the upset in the butt pounding of the Chiefs (spider's words not mine).
5. Running Gag - beat the Warriors by 61 in the first game and 27 this go around. This seems like bulletin board material having them at five...

PLAYOFF PEAK

WEST - Question of #1 or #2 won't be settled until the final week of the season. There is a battle for the 4th seed between the Warriors and Canucks - likely will be settled in week 15 when they go head to head.

EAST - To me the four teams are locked in and the only quesiion mark remains who will be the top seed.
