A long weekend for me as hit the doctor up yesterday for a pinkie toe injury suffered in the great outdoors. Nothing broken but the whole foot is swollen and gives me a reason to wear flip flops in the office as the pinkie toe is larger than my big toe and when you wear 16's it's freaking huge. I'l live. Now, let's jump into what we've been missing (spoiler - not a lot). Two weeks left on the year and only one playoff spot up for grabs and then some seeding left in play.
LEAGUE SURVIVORFour left but two were eliminated. We are down to two participants: SHINKANSEN and PiedPiperofPlainfield...good luck.
PICKS:Scott's Turfbuilders @
Not Fast, Just Furious - Will not be a pretty ending...150-0.
Chile Chupacabras @
Running Gag - Gag won easily in the season opening and nothing tells me this game will be any different...60-6.
Vancouver Gorillas @
Magua's Revenge - The Gorillas have finished strong going 4-1 in their last five but they've not faired well against the league power fives and the Revenge is a power five who beat them handily the first go around...45-14.
Sofia Spiders @ Manhattan Midnight Warriors - Spiders coming home strong and the Warriors have zero to play for...100-0.
Grand Rapids River Rats @
Charlestown Chiefs - The Chiefs welcomed to them in week one with an 86 point win and they'll keep rolling heading down the home stretch...69-0
Game of the week -
LG Canucks @ Tlingit Warriors
MK must be nuts having a pair of 4-10 teams as game of the week. Well, this game is likely going to play heavily into the final West playoff spot and they did play a tight one in week one (26-24 in favor of the Warriors). The Warriors have a bye in week 16 so this nearly becomes a must win for LG. They have a beatable opponent in week 16 in Chile (who they lost to by 11 in their first meeting). Anyway, that's why. Both these teams hit the air waves in the first game with the Warriors throwing for 407.5 yards and LG going for 379.5. The down side was that there were 11 picks thrown in the game (7 by the Warriors and 4 by LG). Another take is that there were nine three and outs in the first half by both teams - any of the two who can establish an early lead and force those picks is going to hold a key here. I do think we may see some more running by both of these teams as the Warriors ran for 42.5 and LG 18 (but only on one carry).
Drum roll please - I'd normally go with the home team who's using a nacho promotion but the QB has 39 picks that leads the league and he threw for seven in the first game. Having played LG I've thrown my fair share of picks. The issue will be whether LG can produce points off the picks. You get to 30 in this one and you'll win...
LG 31 Tlingit 28 Little light - back in the office after not doing anything from home yesterday...and I have a staff infection...body breaking down as I near fiddy.
