When I indicated that WGG had "thrown in the towel" it was in regards to the progress of this game. No progress is being made now or has been made in several years. Simply put the light switch has just not been turned off yet.

Now if you imagine all the people like myself who invested a significant good deal of money to play this game are a bit disappointed (and deceived) that this game was abandoned in favor of other games including a direct competitor that still falls way short of where it should be.

Personally I think its fair to call a spade a spade.

Ahh, yes, the vague concept of The Game's Potential. Won't somebody please think of the game's potential!! http://youtu.be/RybNI0KB1bg

But to be serious, I'm sorry that you're disappointed with our games so far. But "deceived"? What precisely do you feel that you've been deceived about? I might be wrong, but I don't think we ever said we were never going to develop other games, or that there would be substantial changes made to GLB1 forever and ever and ever. GLB1 is still around, but at a certain point we do have to work on new projects too. It's a nice idea that we could just make this one game and never have to do anything else, but... that's not really the way it is.

ON THE PLUS SIDE, though, I think at least of few of you guys are going to dig the new one. More info on that pretty soon...

I think he's referring to promises made regarding jamz becoming admin and Dub mod.

Let me break it down for you.

1-GLB is released in a beta version.

2-People spend money and significant time to help "develop" the game.

3-Stagnation occurs from lack of development and evolution, user base and subsequently games enjoy-ability decrease (directly related).

4- Head Admin who interacts with user base on more than just forum policing is fired. No replacement or attempt to replace is conceived. User base continues to have less of a connection to sticking around glb1.

5-GLB comes out of beta with talk that the sim is finally stable to not require change season after season.

6-GLB2 comes out splintering whats left of a declining user base. Turns out many of the ideas and suggestions that glb beta users had been hoping would get implemented where included in this new game. Whispers that GLB1 had morphed into something Bort hadnt originally envisioned prompted the creation instead of glb2 instead of continuing to improve glb1.

7. Now We are here today, Where people are still foolishly looking for this game to improve and evolve and yet nothing is ever done. WGG employees have stated its cost prohibitive to spend any time on this game. Unfortunately I am now stuck in a sunk investment of prepaid flex that only continues to get less and less valuable each season as more and more user leave and none replace them.

Perhaps had GLB2 been actually more visually appealing/fun/enjoyable/likeable/interesting etc none of this would have really mattered. But thats not where we are at so..........

Simply put, the deceived part came from giving up on the development of the game I had spent money on and creating a direct competitor that is inferior in everything but adding to the problem.

Additionally I wouldn't be as frustrated about this situation if GLB would have done the things necessary to continue to make the game successful. The argument is always made that some stupid suggestion wouldn't help anything, so it wont be implemented. In the end very little got implemented after 2 or 3 years. The proof in that fail is how everything is working out here. The evidence is at hand.

regarding suggestions..

take a look here

http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/suggestions.pl

so many suggestions that could have been implemented and were never touched.....

that is some of the games potential you defined as vague...

I made a few of those so I can see why Bort didn't implement a few of them.

at this point if everyone who is still here just bought some flex and made some dots, there would be more than enough of us to make it fun. everyone wants it to be 30,000 users again, and its never going to be that. but i still have fun playing the game, we just need more people to play the game instead of bitching about not enough people playing the game............

Moretti you forgot the good year to two years where admins where banning people solely based on what mods friends said, if someone had a problem with you and they were friends with a mod, they would suggestion reasons to admins and get you banned.

1) make passing work better

2) fix the crazy amount of sacks on screen plays

3) implement coaches (still waiting)

4) add some new offensive formations (flexbone, wishbone) and plays

5) add more financial stuff like television/radio deals, game programs, coffee

We voted against coaches a long time ago. I am not sure what you are "still waiting:" for...
