In response to the OP, I don't see any significant changes being made, but I don't believe it to be "circling the drain" either. Its not as if we have any other serious alternatives regarding a place to play online football.

I don't see the new user activity that i used to so i'm guessing they're right?

Suggestions for how to get it going again:

1) it's 2014, get a damn app. this is priority 1. Any day thats not a game day I only need to be on the site for 10 minutes max, seems like an app would be perfect for that.

2) tighten up the A.I. and balance out the SP, AP system. experience should count for something when it comes to building dots but there should be more than one path to becoming an elite dot.

3) create a better experience around the actual games. make watching live easier, flesh out the match-up screens to be a little more in depth with things like "recent trends" for each team or "milestone watch" if a player is coming up to a milestone sometime soon. anything to give it a little more presentation.

4) assuming you can get the first 3 things worked out and stats are coming out close to real life football: add a flex point wagering system. In my experience people will bet on just about anything as long as they dont think it's fixed and think that with the proper skill you can pick a winner. Book keeping is good money and I'm going to assume mods could spend more time on the game if there was a little more cash coming their way.

I know I'm going to get some shit for this post (because thats the way the internet works) but anyone who isn't too forum-jaded and has ideas post em here.

I like GLB, it's alot of fun (even when you suck) and I want to see it do well

WGG has stated that they wont be contributing any more effort to glb classic because its cost prohibitive....of course had they done more things in the past the game would probably be relatively more successful and they might not be in this situation....but of course that about sums up this game...so much potential....but unfortunately more questionable decisions

I just can't understand why if you actually enjory GLB you'd shoot down an enthusiastic noob who just wants to make this into something more than what it currently is.

When was that stated? Plenty of effort still goes into maintaining GLB, we're just not actively developing new changes for the game right now. I think the issue is less that it's cost-prohibitive and more that it's about time. We only have so many developers and only so many hours in a day. If it's a decision between spending time on superficial changes to the game that's already out (and is pretty stable) OR spending time finishing up the big stuff for a new game that's not out yet, right now it makes more sense to focus development time on finishing up the new game. That doesn't mean we don't care about or are completely ignoring GLB1, it's just not the main thing the developers are developing at the moment.
GLB1 is still here, though. I don't see that changing any time soon.

I have always received a fast friendly response from Support any time I contact them.
Not always the answer I want ti hear! , But that is how it goes.
Everyone used to complain every time they changed the sim.
Now they complain because there are no changes and the sim is stable.
Jeez!

Not sure I know the post you're referring to, unless we're both thinking of the same thing but phrasing it a little differently...

If we'd 'thrown in the towel', the game would be gone. We haven't. It's still here. No big changes on the horizon doesn't mean people aren't actively working to keep everything going for you guys.

this argument is just plain silly......glb classic needed more development, adaptation and evolution for it it to maximize its potential.....instead of that happening, the game was lifted from its beta status and development was stopped. This is obviously evident from the creation of glb2 which for whatever reason was introduced and only further polarized the user base.

When I indicated that WGG had "thrown in the towel" it was in regards to the progress of this game. No progress is being made now or has been made in several years. Simply put the light switch has just not been turned off yet.

Now if you imagine all the people like myself who invested a significant good deal of money to play this game are a bit disappointed (and deceived) that this game was abandoned in favor of other games including a direct competitor that still falls way short of where it should be.

Personally I think its fair to call a spade a spade.
