Stagnation = the end.
When a pond goes stagnant, the algae grows, the oxygen levels change, the fish die. When a on-line sim goes stagnant, the games go stale, the cares become abandoned, the players die off. This game will exists as long as WG feels the amount of money it takes in is MORE than the cost of keeping it going. That means there will be no more changes since that would cost more than the game currently brings in. Once enough players drop out to where it COSTS WG to keep the game going, the next step is game death asap. GLB1 WAS a great game... then a good game... now it's just a game waiting on the passage of time to bring about the inevitable. I'm not sad I played... I'm not mad I spent as much as I did... but I'm not stupid enough to spend any more on it. I'll ride out the flex I have for a while... do like many others and give it away when I get low enough, and go do other things with my time and my life. I dunno why everybody's all bent and bummed about all of this... it's what happens to on-line games all the time. I surely didn't expect this one to be different.
