OK, 2 games in and N America now has 4 teams with 60%+ completions. There are 16 teams that are under 40%. That cannot be working as intended, right?

No, it's just indicative of how unbalanced the passing game was last season.

Agreed. It needed balancing. But we're not there yet. We swung too far the other way.

Don't worry. They'll make the stealth adjustments right before the playoffs start once everybody has adapted to this sim.

passing game had poor completion % last year too, but the deep ball made it worth it. Right now the deep ball is a lot less dependable which is a good thing. However, the key problem was that the O-line protection schemes were pretty bad and forced a lot of hurries. After the changes today, you'll probably see a slight adjustment in offensive productivity and that's a good thing. Bad passes were happening waaaaaaaaay too much. I'd much rather have a sim where sacks and such were the key component, not hurries and bad throws.

This is what I am seeing..

I game plan and put up 45-55% passing..

I don't game plan and I put up 25-35% passing...

Thus to win I now know I need to game plan every game.. when I don't have time (I OC 5 teams) i rely on the run more...

This season to pass against a decent DC you need a decent OC who put the time in...

Yes I think passing is off a bit...comp rates are low and I am seeing far more INTs then in seasons past...

BUT
I like it.. The better Cords and teams will rise to the top... It takes a bit of skill and scouting...

The problem is many teams simply don't have cords that can or will put the time in... In seasons past a good base Off would carry you.. adjust for the tough teams... and get in deep come playoffs... This season you have to be ready every game...

I will cut down on the # of teams I oc after this season... I simply don't have time to spend the time scouting 5 games every other day... I would expect to see others do the same... The real problem is there simply are not many people out there that will or can.. put the time in that's required ... I like the balance to the game.. then again I'm a GLB nut.. I like the tough games... I like to rip apart a good DCs Def.. that's the fun part for me... I may not always get the W.. but I am always in the fight

so ya I am a bit torn on the sim this season.. I have NP working for a W... I just don't think many teams have a staff like I have... GLB junkies .. lol... the teams who do will rise above,, and to me.. thats fair.. you put the time in .. most time you can find a W .. you don't .. well you better have a good run game...

At least at the Nat minors and semi pro age groups.... ask be about pr next season lol

I would disagree with this, tbh. I started OCing again and have 2 teams going. I haven't touched their AIs since Game 1, and both are passing at over 60% clips.

It's not about game planning, it's about finding the routes that help well built receivers/TE's/HBs/FBs to get open, then not over analyzing your progressions.

In fact, i would take it a step further and say that it's been a long, long time since game planning on offense had any profound effect between two teams of even builds.

It doesn't help that 3 man pass rushes are so effective. I didn't like it when sending three meant no pressure, but it's too strong at the moment. Right now you're much better off defensively sending three or four at most, then dropping extra people into coverage.

i don't think it's overpowered, at least looking at the boxes. In game it seems like it but the box doesn't show it. I do agree though that sending more then 3 most of the time is a waste. Maybe that's just how it has to be

3 man pass rush has been slicing my O-line all season. Guess it must be a build or tactic thing for us. Last season we didn't have such a problem

same thing here. even if they hold the line the hurries still cause bad throws.

That's because all plays last so long. Even the short ones.

Yea, it'd be nice if quick out routes didn't all end with the wr/te stopping on the sideline and having a jump ball.

that and on curls/hooks stopping, doing a little dance, and then getting led into coverage or back to the line of scrimmage.
