EFF levels and SP value are nice but don't mean everything if the dot is built right.

Oh, they matter. What you LU guys experience is a somewhat competitive SIM, because your builds are more rounded out. However, as time goes on, your builds can not, will not compare. Season 1 you may beat team x. Season 2 you may beat team x or lose by the slimmest of margins. Season 3 you might lose by a close score and blame your game plan.. Season 3 you will realize you are no match. by season 8 you will get beat by 100 points.

Disclaimer....I am drunk. For all I know I'm not even in the right foewum

I'm 50/50 on this.
1) I think that most dots on teams in the "eilte" conference are going to be built right. Therefore, they should carry more weight.
2) It only takes the top 28 dots (it might be a different number) and not the entire roster, so that's worthless since most backups play as much as the starters
3) If you build a dot for a purpose other than what GLB thinks it should be built for, your effective level sucks when the dot is actually doing exactly what you want it to (ie. my rushing QBs effective level is terrible, because he has spent 0 points in throwing, yet he finished 4th in offensive MVP last year)

All in all, yes it doesn't mean a whole lot, but I do think that it gives you a decent idea of who is going to be competitive. The teams that have a legitimate chance to win the championship will be in the top 10-15 of this list.

EDIT: Let me clarify this a little. If you are in the top 15 it does not mean that you are going to be a playoff contender, just that you have a chance. If you are outside that group, I don't think that you can contend, although I have been wrong before.

I think effective levels look good especially as the dots age, but my other teams have beaten well built teams with 30 plus sps per dot...I d say that effective levels may be 25 percent...the rest is a combination of roster, depth placement, game plan and tactics...I ve seen very well built players with an effective level as much as 10 below their real level and be extremely productive...I look at the build first...then lolscout bars..effective last...

And Davis was right..it only calculates top highest 20 or so....so a team may have a high effective, 20 players making it that way and the rest are much lower...but the team can still be very productive...or not...the rest calculates into the equation...IMO

O ya at season 8 i'm screwed i know this. I pretty much see the 5th season as the end outside of ULU. This past season number 4, i beat the number 7,13,16,22,24,27,and 32 SP ranked teams. With Zambia at 10 EFF levels and 120 or so SP over me, a poorly built team would have no chance. In the conference i'm in this season making the playoffs will be a miracle.

Ulu non booster underground empire is here. We went to the finals vs a boosting hood team, but this should be the end of the run for us.

Tactics-> builds still though.

WTF! This forum comes up on our league forum page. I was confused as to why we were not showing up, I thought it was just outdated. BTW DavyJonesLocker I have a life outside of GLB, don't spend all of my time in forums. Sorry I don't have your Forum savvy,stud.

Hmm, how many seasons ago did they switch from 1 forum per league to 1 forum per age group?
