I can confirm I was a terrible high school football player, and I did in fact decide one game to not give a full effort, or as GLB would put it, I played on "Normal"

Every time I decided to take a play off (rare), I ended up on my ass...

I would like to see defaulted to HARD, but keep options available, I think there are experience factors associated as well?

I've always set my players on relax so my opponents had a chance to win

I am not arguing the point here, because I agree that almost no one should be playing on anything other than "Hard".

But, does it make sense for a player to be able to play on either "Normal" or "Relaxed", if the team has no back up and needs to conserve energy so they can last the whole game? Obviously this would only be for a team that had a hard time recruiting enough players to fill their rosters. This would be the only reason I could say that it should stay as an option.

I could see renaming the option, like maybe from "Relaxed" to "Conserve A Lot Of Energy" and from "Normal" to "Conserve A Little Energy" so it doesn't sound like the player is just lazy or not committed to winning.

agreed....needs to stay because in lower lvs your stamina is not good enough for playing hard the entire game.

Younger players need those settings.

I've been institutionalized since my introduction to glb.com that intensity should always be "Hard" ... given if that team had a full roster and a complimentary depth chart.

As I haven't experimented with it so I'm a bit skeptical to remove it entirely.

As soon as I make a player, the first thing I do is set them to Hard...

I've never had a player have any trouble at all other than the normal energy drain with 20 Stam...

No point in having these settings when 99% of the dots only use one setting, the other 1% forget to set it...

You know, I understand where this is coming from, but it can be used as somewhat of a leverage tool... I was once on a team that was fucking me around and weren't living up to the deals they had promised me upon coming in, and after one season I got pissed and decided that I wanted out and I told them so, and that if I didn't get a clean release I was going to play on relaxed and do everything I could to sandbag the team.

That got me my release.

The whole energy system needs to be revamped. "Normal" should be the standard setting for every down players, while hard should only be suitable for situational players.

I understand that you could just crank energy use up to make this happen, but this would be very bad for the very reason that you list. This is why energy use should be proportional to the attributes (specifically speed and strength). Being faster or stronger should take more energy. Done right (for a refreshing change of pace) there would be no need for any modifiers, as the equation would work if you are 10's across the board or a high level with 100+ attributes.
