college style!

smash all leagues. everybody does their own schedule...nothing new here, anybody who's interested in competitive GLB play already has to make their own schedules & hold their own playoffs, and anyone uninterested just won't bother scheduling; anybody short of 16 games goes into a pool & the games are randomly generated at that point.

Top however many go into a big tournament at the end.

How bout looking at the "one big pyramid" idea, combined with some of the other ideas?

One thing that's good about the minor leagues right now is that the number of leagues can contract and grow with demand at each level. With a completely rigid structure, you end up with extra CPU slots, like we see in AA right now.

Could have a single pyramid that goes down to say...level A or BBB, and put a cap of 60-something on for the lower tiers. That would be between 15 and 31 leageus, depending on if A doubled up AA or not, and if BBB doubled up A. Right now we have 56 AA+ leagues, with enough teams to fill around 35-45 of them or so.

Then below that you have some sort of minor league or ladder system to feed into it. There'd likely need to be a lv 60 capped "staging ground" or something for teams that just can't quite make it to the bottom of the pyramid to wait for their turn.

Only problem is it kills the regions that a lot of people seem to like.

Seems like a ladder system might work just as well? I wonder how many people would be able to find opponents? Some of the "less connected" types might feel left out.

i like it.

I dont care about regions much, but it does add a level of trash talking people enjoy (i.e. SLAP > USAPL).

What about getting rid of some regions? Combine West and East Europe, lose the youngest leage APL and maybe OPL? What the F is an oceania? I dont know

i am glad you are looking at this. I would rather lose every game by 5 points than win them all by 100

I would love college style. If you don't have matchups then have them determined by effective level. Or have a specific amount determined by effective level. People will find matches.

I have 2 Ideas:

Idea #1
Eliminate the WL, downsize from 8 Pro leagues to 4 Pro leagues (down size down the pyramid), eliminate the cloud & force teams into one of the four brackets

Idea #2

Screw the bracket, go with more of a EA Sports/Club Mode rankings system. See FIFA or NHL for how they do it. Then for the playoffs separate teams based off how they did during the 32 day games period.

Private Leagues. It promotes competition that lasts over more than one season, and allows for more active forums. Charge 100 flex for each team to enter. Then teams could also start up inter-private league tournaments for bragging rights (our league or our champion is better than yours). This would also liven up the forums. If a team goes CPU then the league could choose who they want in their private league. This would also allow for those who want a non-boosting league or other such ideas. It would allow many teams to stay playing other teams over their entire career...would be fun.

Just my 2 flex anyway.

I'm really a big fan of this. There's some basic fundamental issues that would need to be addressed, but it allows teams on the same level to set their competition at a reasonable level, especially for farm teams.

I think regions used to be relevant. I don't think people would care at all now. The cloud and WL took away from the importance of regions.

Bort, how about you restructure to a big pyramid but still give teams a region? For example the Kai could have a SAPL banner and play in a league with equal competition from any other regions? If that league has 20 teams with a USA flag and 1 from SAPL, 1 from EEPL, 1 from WEPL, 7 from SEAPL..........doesnt matter. Each team can have a region banner of their choice but be in a competitive league

Ok I'm gonna kill this with, how do low lvl teams compete with teams that are 3-4 seasons older? I mean cmon 1 team in our division now is throwing that theory out the window, games are competitive except for that team! League for these kinds of teams please.... I'm not bagging on the team build really but lets see how they stack up v. opponents every game with similar players and teams at those levels. How is this equal footing, and how does the new changes keep this from going on still in GLB

upon purchasing a team you choose a banner and it gets displayed by your team.
