I think the different archetypes will all be able to compete against one another. In the end, it's still going to be about players who figure out how to build the best dots. This just creates a more efficient building process for the most part.

My Question is simple i created 48 players this season to start competeing next season all with CE already purchased but none are equiped. I dont feel its fair to some including myslef who go with current system of building players and get set to start competing next and then they change it again. I am not opposed to the new way i just feel i shouldnt have to retire my players and rebuild and lose 10% on CE that is not gonna be used this season.

Why does it seem that this is implemented simply to increase the number of new players built. We need to have something in place to reward the people that put time and energy into this site and make it fun for others to join. I am talking about implementing a certain amount of "Free Flex" per season to account for changes made with this game. I know this is a Archetypes specific thread but yet another change that will leave people spending plenty of cash to "keep up". I am afraid you will loose a lot of good agents that put a lot into making this fun for everyone and giving everyone a reason to stick around is going to make BORT more money in the long run.

Example: You log on for 100 hours in 40 days you gain 1000 flex which is just enough to make a QB and custom equipment without the tree. Now anyone will boost that guy each season as he was "free" to make.

Just a suggestion to those of us who have spent 100's of dollars and have nothing but a pic of a gold trophy to look at.

Not sure what you are asking there. Players tend to compete against players that are within 10 levels of their own. So the players that would be most affected by the archetypes are those that are youngest, which is why we have something in place for them if they choose to retire them to start over (which I honestly don't think you need to do but some people will want to).

In brief, what was the rationale for making this change but not getting into some sort of adjustment on the SA trees, either going to full or partial customization, or at a minimum, different trees for different archetypes?

Cheers,

Matt

Not a question. But thank you for taking my suggestion on changing the Combo TEs minor from Carrying to Vision.

It is really only complex if you feel you need to allow older players to adjust. There is nothing written in stone that says this has to happen. We hear all the time that "this is a beta". The game changes every season, multiple times per season.

That is very weak reasoning not to do something that would allow far more creativity.

But I'll play the game -- why not have different SA trees for the different archetypes? That still keeps things in a nice, tidy little box for the people worried about exploits, but offers more variation based on archetype chosen.

Now get out of the box, and allow different sets of SA's to be chosen (trees built) based on archetypes. Now get further out of the box and have the trees built over the course of a players career (levels unlocking the next part of the tree). -- and depending on how you chose to build within the archetype, certain SA's would be available and certain ones would not.

See where I'm going here. Far more fun than the current method and would lead to great customization among builds.

Now you do the same with VA's (more unlockable stuff based on archetype, build, etc.) and heck, you could even do it with AEQ (what we all wouldn't give to get rid of the number of useless items -- have items showing up for some based on archetype, based on build, based SA's chosen, etc.)

You can really get into some exciting customization and have truly unique(ish) players if you take some time to set up the system.

May be a wall of text but makes way more sense to me.

You don't have to retire those players. It's an option not a requirement. You'll still be able to select an archetype and get the benefits of the archetype.

Completely off topic but I know the other Admins are working on a Frequent Buyers Program.

We're going to be working on balancing the SA's more (making ineffective ones more effective and in general making SA's have more value) in conjunction with this. Full or partial customization was never an option for a variety of reasons (coding complexity, potential for exploits, "realism") but we are offering more SA options with the bonus SA and the archetype specific SA (that I need to get working on soon lol).

yea but then he looses out of 1 season of the new ALG which is pretty much a big
deal on early levels..so it doesn't benefit him at all..*1 season is like 10-14 Levels
of ALG*

*Level 1 Players
