---------------The time many have been waiting for has come: Casual leagues are starting up a pyramid structure next season.

Based on the discussion I had with casual owners in this thread: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3583361, we have come up with the following plan:

What we are going to do is start with 3 leagues:

- 1 Pro league
- 2 AAA leagues

We now have enough teams of sufficient quality to create these leagues. In order to fill the inaugural Pro league, we will be taking the top 32 teams from the current Uncapped casual tier, via the normal tiebreakers starting with Playoff wins. The AAA leagues will then be filled with the remaining Playoff teams from Uncapped, and the top promoting teams from lv cap 46 (and possibly 42 if there are too many dropdowns or CPU teams).

We will also be keeping some remaining uncapped leagues to house the spillover teams who didn't make the cut for AAA or Pro. These leagues (and future lv 46 promotions) will form the basis for future additions of AA leagues under AAA, of which I'd like to eventually have 4, and should eventually be able to be dissolved.

All of the casual uncapped, AAA, and Pro leagues will also begin to receive media revenue next season at the same rate as normal teams, and ticket prices & fan support will rise in line with those leagues as well. Casual Uncapped will receive the AA rates. Minimum roster and level requirements still apply.

Good luck to all Casual teams this season! Winning in the playoffs will be your ticket to the big leagues!------------------

First off I'll say that I wont make any promises, but if we can get a well thought out idea and think of all the pros/cons to each idea and compile a solid structure Bort may be inclined to do what I have a feeling most casual owners want.....they want something to play for instead of being in a Stagnant uncapped. Casual needs a Pro League as well so let's get it done, let's do the leg work and once we have a solid idea w/ all the kinks worked out I will present it to him. Let's discuss....

Just looking at the current setup My thinking is to take the 3 uncapped leagues and make Pro and 2 AAA leagues. Then Casual will have no AA leagues, just go straight from Cap46 (highest cap prior to uncapped) into AAA's.

End of this season top 32 teams from all of the uncapped leagues to make up Pro (we could come up w/ a diff name also) and then fill out to AAA's w/ the rest.

Those are some early thoughts, so let's put our keyboards together and get to work

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-Thoughts so Far -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

>> Need Media Revenue <<

I suggested if we have enough to make 2 AA's as well as 2 AAA's, then we can do lateral promotions from AA1 to AAA1 and AA2 to AAA2, AAA1and2 to Pro

Then the cloud. So we'll need

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elite - 32 teams (Top 5 from Each current uncapped conference + Next best 2 via tiebreakers)
AAA - 64 teams (Rest of current uncapped + Champions of Cap 46 to fill in CPU's)
AA - 64 teams (Current Cap 46 Leagues + Champions of Cap 42 leagues to fill in CPU's)

AA would be lateral promotion instead of Pyramid since we only have enough to support 2 AA's for now. As Casual popularity grows and there gets to be a lot of 42/46 leagues we could add 2 more AA's down the road to fill out the bottom of the Pyramid.

===================Casual Elite==================
=======Casual AAA1============Casual AAA2=======
=======Casual AA1==============Casual AA2=======
===============Cloud (14 up to 46)================

Casual AAA1, AAA2 Conference Winners (4 Go Up + CPU's) -> Casual Elite (Bottom 2 From Each Conference (4) Go Down + CPU's)
Casual AA1 Conference Game Participants (4 Go Up + CPU's) -> Casual AAA1 (Bottom 2 From Each Conference (4) Go Down + CPU's)
Casual AA2 Conference Game Participants (4 Go Up + CPU's) -> Casual AAA2 (Bottom 2 From Each Conference (4) Go Down + CPU's)
Casual Cap 46 -> Feeds AA1 and AA2 - Trickle effect downwards like normal. CPU's and Guts go down to 14.

Media Revenue would be handed out just like the "normal" teams with Elite, AAA, and AA

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then start the cloud with 46 on down just like the normal leagues.

Sounds great!

It works out for established teams in the uncapped leagues because they can get the money the need.

It works out for the teams that move into the uncapped because they won't have to play the teams in the pro's

It works for the causal players because they can get paid now.

Great idea. I'm a Newbie, but I'd like to stay with my Casual team as long as possible. If I could get them to 'Business Casual', that would be an amazing accomplishment.

"Casual" leagues need a name change in general. The mindset of the GLB community as a whole is that "Casual" is lol-game playing. For alot of us, it is not casual to set-up a team to win right away. Alot of what could be said about these leagues could use NEW name of: "Classic" league. Classic Pro, Classic AAA, Classic AA, Classic 46 capped, etc, etc.

I also believe that either a "commity" of competitive casual team owners or just 1 representitive should submit "suggested" league re-alignment as per new levels from Pro on down of uncapped if implemented.......

I've always liked "casual" but I understand what you are saying. As per your second point....Huh?

Anything that helps the Casual leagues long term viability is a good idea; giving us a Pro league is a fantastic idea.

And I have heard the idea of changing Casual to Classic before; I really think it would help teams who have to do a lot of recruiting in the off-season. There's certainly a negative connotation attached to the term Casual that makes it difficult for some owners/GM's to find decent players/agents to join their club.

Nice work. +1
