IMO every V.A. should have a pro and con like Jump the Snap does. The V.A. would then not just boost your game abilities. You would be better at one thing, but worse at the other.

E.G.

Ball Hawk
This player has a nose for the ball. Each level of Ball Hawk gives a +2% bonus to speed, agility, vision, and a +1% penalty to energy use from the moment the player sees a pass coming until it is caught or dropped. Applies on both defense and offense. (so the player would make the play with the bonus to attributes, but also sit down more with the penalty to energy)

Being better at one thing/worse at another would come from having a wider choice of VAs with specific purposes.

Such as a VA that specifically helps run blocking as opposed to a VA that specifically helps pass blocking. If you take one but not the other, you are better at one and worse at the other(comparitively)

i would prefer that every VA has an instant effect for every pt you put in it.

ie.
instead of "every level of this VA has a +5% chance of giving you a 5% bonus to all attributes...."
why not "every level of this VA gives you a 0.3% bonus to all attributes...."

in other words, revise all those VAs that gives you a chance at something, and just give you a small bonus instantly instead. some VAs are close to worthless unless you max it out with 15pts.

I've pretty much always agreed with this.

Though, it is pretty tough to make a VA barely noticeable at 15, while still having an effect at 1 point.
